This is exactly what my friend said in 2015 when everyone was shouting CHANGE! CHANGE!! CHANGE!!!
He said things were better in the days of Babangida, Abacha and Abdulsalam than the PDP government.
But today the same set of people that convinced Nigerians for a CHANGE are the very people Nigerians are complaining about now! embarassed
Its either you are with Nigerians or against us for anyone defending Apc regime

This is not about defending any political party but what God said about the endtime. Each time people think of electing a new government the past will be better than the one they will get!

Not always bro. Nobody said Yaradua was worse than OBJ. And who are the you people you refer to. Check the indices from 1999 to date - inflation and living conditions have progressively worsened with the only period of seeming stability being Yaraduas brief stay after OBJ
you Nigerians are so low in intelligence. YarAdua that was popularly called Mr Go Slow for failing to always do the needful until he is practically pushed. YarAdua's best friend then were James Ibori and Bukola Saraki; both former corrupt governors then.
He had the opportunity to remove oil subsidy but further encouraged it by reducing fuel prices so as to pay more subsidy to cronies and friends-a move applauded by many ignorant Nigerians. Any president that wants to subsidize fuel correctly for Nigerians, must first of all fix the country's refinery. Get statistics of how much liters Nigerians consume a day, week, month and a year. Run analysis on this statistics and know how much per litre they are subsidizing and make sure fuel is available for its citizens otherwise it won't work, the cabals will be feeding fat on the money while impoverishing the economy. We are in this mess today because of people like him who are so weak and can't implement simple policies.

- Nigeria's tax system and fiscal policy needs review and the proposal brought forward by Tinubu's team looks good: His proposal aims to increase government revenue, create a more efficient, equitable and investor-friendly enomy. This will stimulate healthy competition between states.
- exchange rate unification is a good one- it is supposed to eliminate multiple exchange rates, reduces currency speculation, prices are more stable and investors(both foreign and local) have more trust in the economy. You also get more honest pricing for goods and services.
- fuel subsidy removal: Ideally this should free up public funds that was hijacked by elite fuel profiteers. The funds should go things like education for common man, infrastructure, healthcare for all etc
- decentralization of electricity generation: this should allow states generate(possibly distribute too), leading to more stable power which will inturn stimulate economic growth.

However, what I said initially was, Good reforms but the actors are interested in politics, not governance.
how has increasing revenue benefitted the citizens?

if the aim of the tax reforms is increasing revenue, how will be make nigeria investor-friendly?

why do states need competition? what are they competing for?

what is the honest pricing of goods and services that nigerians are now benefitting from exchange rate unification?

how has the exchange rate unification benefitted the citizens of nigeria?

if you say investors have more trust in the nigerian economy, do you and all nigerians have more trust in the nigerian economy as a result of exchange rate unification?

can you please name the "elite fuel profiteers" that hijacked public funds in the name of fuel subsidy?

did education for the common man, infrastructure, health care for all, not have their normal allocation all these years?

is it now money meant for fuel subsidy that will now make nigerians have education, infrastructure and healthcare for all?

what is the "etc"?

how have the lives of nigerians improved since the removal of fuel subsidy?

are you aware that many developed countries still pay one for of subsidy for their citizens?

are you aware that tinubu, shettima, members of the national assembly, ministers, state governors, local government chairmen, heads of the military and their families all enjoy free feeding, free clothing, free transportation, free health care, free security, free transportation and fuel, free electricity, free accommodation, free airtime, free data, free newspapers, free house helps all at home and abroad?

how come fuel subsidy was the problem and not the freebies that these people enjoy?

how has the decentralisation led to more stable power?

is it because of the lack of decentralisation that nigeria does not have stable power?

since fuel subsidy has been "removed", is the economy now enriched?

how has the living standard of nigerians improved as a result of the "removal" of this fuel subsidy?

who are the members of this "cabal" that you mentioned?

what are their names?

how did reducing fuel price mean paying more subsidy to cronies?

who were the cronies?

how has increasing revenue benefitted the citizens? where did I say Tinubus increase in revenue has benefitted Nigerian citizens
if the aim of the tax reforms is increasing revenue, how will be make nigeria investor-friendly? you think tax holiday or reduction is the important thing to business men and investors?
why do states need competition? what are they competing for? Because as previously intended, a huge percentage of federal allocation was going to be distributed based on output from those states. Lot of states are unproductive living on money they are not generating. Waiting for federal allocation.
what is the honest pricing of goods and services that nigerians are now benefitting from exchange rate unification?
how has the exchange rate unification benefitted the citizens of nigeria?
if you say investors have more trust in the nigerian economy, do you and all nigerians have more trust in the nigerian economy as a result of exchange rate unification? exchange rate unification brings currency stability, stability is the most important thing for a business man/investor, nobody wants to invest $1million, do business make profit in naira, then when its time to pay back your financiers in dollars-realize you ve just been running in circles
can you please name the "elite fuel profiteers" that hijacked public funds in the name of fuel subsidy? i am sure you dont mean this. You asked intelligent questions actually and I am sure you know the answer to this

I am aware
how come fuel subsidy was the problem and not the freebies that these people enjoy? from what part of my post did you make this deduction?
how has the decentralisation led to more stable power?
is it because of the lack of decentralisation that nigeria does not have stable power?
Overall I am not sure you read my post to understand. The main point of my post was that the government mouthed/is mouthing good policies, but the policy makers are interested in politics not governance-meaning the government is doing nothing. Maybe you should drink water, calma and read again- i never said the government was doing anything to improve the lives of people. I said they are dangling good policies at the people but doing nothing about real execution.

did you read my post to understand?

can you show me where the highlighted was said in the following?

1.
smartpolitician:
Believe it or not, Tinubu has some good policies but his biggest challenge is that he thrives in politics but knows nothing about governance. That's why his good policy like local government autonomy has remained impracticable.
What are some of those good policies that tinubu has?

2.
tunapawizzy:
Tax reform and fiscal policy review, exchange rate unification, fuel subsidy removal, decentralization of electricity generation,
Dont get me wrong, Tinubu has failed, I never wanted him in power in 2023, and I still will not want him in power in 2027. But those policies are good policies.
you made some valid points but what is good about "Tax reform and fiscal policy review, exchange rate unification, fuel subsidy removal, decentralization of electricity generation" ?

You are the one low on intelligence for stooping to insukts rather than addressing a divergent opinion. FACT: Standard of living has progressively declined since 1999. However the highest deckine has been witnesses between 2023 till date. Even during the Buhari era we never saw inflationary rates of 400-600% for commodities etc in less than 18 months. Let your statistics MR INTELLIGENCE PROVE ME OTHERWISE
