Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded critically to a recent move by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) involving a letter submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The letter, dated July 29, 2025, and received by INEC on August 1, 2025, was sent to confirm the submission of minutes from the ADC’s 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Olayinka’s response, shared via his social media account, centered on the ongoing leadership controversy within the ADC.

He described the situation as chaotic and confusing, questioning the legitimacy of those submitting documents on behalf of the party.

While INEC still recognizes Chief Ralph Nwosu as the official National Chairman of the party, another faction claims to have appointed former Senate President David Mark as interim chairman during the 99th NEC meeting.

This same faction reportedly submitted the minutes to INEC, sparking confusion over which leadership structure is valid.

Olayinka criticized what he described as attempts to bypass due process by individuals who are not officially acknowledged by the electoral body.


He implied that the ADC’s internal disarray, driven by factional power struggles, is undermining the party’s credibility.


He also urged close scrutiny of the document, particularly regarding who is recognized in the minutes as the party’s national chairman.

According to him, only leadership ratified by INEC holds legal weight, and any parallel claims only add to what he sarcastically termed “kolision konfusion.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the names of 5 candidates from different political parties scheduled to contest in the upcoming bye-election for the Adamawa State House of Assembly(Ganye Local Government Area).

Hon. Musa Misa – APC
Hon. Bengice Abdulrahman – APM
Hon. Sa’ad Bello – NRM
Hon Buba Mohammed Joda – PDP


According to report, the Party’s inability to field a candidate is due to its current leadership and internal crisis.

So in your opinion if he spend the next five years castigating the opposition party then his career is over? That's an illusion. Where's Reno and Fani kayode, Keyano, Bwala today? You will be surprised that if Atiku becomes president tomorrow lere could get appointment as one SA for media before long term member of the party. You that is talking, can you ever imagine that some politicians would just wake up one day to hijack an existing party or two parties now rather than build, promote and form a new party from scatch as was the norm in the past? This lot should relax, they are in government and control all the apparatus of state. Why is a minister's aide and not party spokesperson engaging with the media on party affairs?
