Depends solely on your location, but for your peace of mind, I will advise you to be sure of the history and stay of Nigerian used. If you're in but Lagos, Abuja, pH and few other cities, avoid the car like a plague.

Go for it bro that is the car I am using. It consumes very little fuel and it is very strong. I got the one I am using right now 5 years ago Passat 2014 1.8 liters engine, turbo, 4 plugs.
I don't have issues with mechanics because I am don't live in Nigeria regardless it doesn't give problems.

Heard it has electronic malfuctions, and sometimes it temperature rises like someone with hight fever and taifoeith🤨🤨

if bad mechanics touch that car thats the beginning of so many problems that would make you hate the car...

Lovely Car, I think the TSI engine is the easiest on maintenance and gas mileage. Acceleration is swift and car is very rugged.
Transmission needs adequate care tho, almost like honda accord. Also avoid swimming any kind of water with it.

There would always be people against any car, even the best of cars.
No matter how good a car is, a bad handler with a poor maintenance ability will have a negative experience with it.
Buy what you like and can afford, maintain it and you'll enjoy driving it.

Definitely get a comprehensive VIN report prior to purchase.

It's a good brand (only if you live in a place where the German mechanics are available because of maintenance). If you live in Lagos, go for it. It's durable and rugged.made for a terrain like that of Nigeria.

You can easily get the mechanic and the spares at Iyana Itire.

Note: if you live in a place far from Lagos or can not access the Volkswagen mechanic in your location, I will advise you have a change of mind.

I'm a living witness my brother pls stay away from the car. The car is a good car but u see those useless mechanic ehnnnn they will milk you on top this car. Most of the car problem is electrical related and most nigeria mechatronic don't understand it. And to sum it up the car doest have second hand value. I sold my 2008 passat for 1million plus... I almost cried because there was no value for my money and the mechanics hv milked me dry.... my brother run oooooo

Buy this car inside Nigeria and you will regret it. People are only talking about mechanics but there's electrical issue too. Handle it poorly and your car will go off one day and nobody will be able to start it again unless a specialist is called from Lagos. You don't need this sort of heart break for your first car. Buy Toyota or Lexus.

And as a first timer pls go for Japanese cars first so yiu can hv basic understanding of a car. You see these German machines are for those who hv experience and understand cars and its components as a first timer pls don't go for passat

Premium tears await you. Especially when you decide to visit the mechanic for the first time. If you're not living in Lagos or Abuja, or any city who has a specialist there, forget this thing. I know what two of my friends faced with this ride then in Kano.

Make sure you have a mechanic that understands the make & model before you buy it...speak to a current owner for referrals

You better buy anything Toyota so that you wouldn't regret later okay

Very rugged and reliable ! If you re very careful with it and maintain it well. Ur only problem would be mech- just buy a diagnostic machine sha - so idiot go dey run trial and error

If u stay in an area with bad roads...just know that u will be visiting mechanics for leg works regularly
