Sanwo-Olu Commissions 20km Road Network In Badagry by Lanrelagboi(op): 5:49am On Aug 07, 2025
Today, Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu commissioned about 20km network of roads constructed by the Lagos State Government in Badagry Local Government Area

The roads projects are:

Aradagun/Mosafejo road

Ilado/Imeke road

Samuel Ekundayo/Toga road

Hospital road
https://x.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1953160811863478427?t=4wPKEKHf30ABNbjjPiVugw&s=19

Today, we commissioned seven completed road projects across more than eight communities in Badagry Local Government and Olorunda LCDA.

These roads, spanning over 16 km, are lifelines that connect residents to markets, schools, health centres, and cultural heritage sites.

One standout project is the Samuel Ekundayo-Toga Road, which we have expanded from a single lane to a dual carriageway with proper drainage. It now provides easier access to the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and helps ease congestion around Limca, Ibereko, and the Badagry Roundabout.

We also upgraded Hospital Road, improving access to major landmarks such as the Agbalata Market, Nigeria’s First Storey Building, the Heritage Museum, and other historic sites that define Badagry’s rich legacy.

Badagry holds deep economic and cultural significance not just for Lagos, but for Nigeria. As a gateway to five West African countries, it has the potential to become a major hub for tourism and cross-border trade.

Our goal is simple: no part of Lagos should feel left behind. We are pushing development deeper into our communities and not just the city centres.

I understand that some areas, including Oko Afo, Ilogbo, Eremi, and Pota, are still waiting. Work is ongoing, and I appreciate the patience of the residents. We are committed to seeing it through.

Good infrastructure goes beyond roads and bridges. It creates access, opens up opportunity, and gives communities a stronger foundation to grow.

Badagry, this is just the beginning.

The one that will be washed away after one heavy rain like the sakamanje they did in Ikorodu?

I went to Port Harcourt and saw the huge difference between purposeful leadership and the disaster that has been going on in Lagos since Ambode was booted out.

For a state that generates about 20billion monthly as IGR with huge allocation from FAAC, Lagos should be a construction site.

But what do you have?

Estates and communities are the ones who now contribute to build their roads.

Go to Awoyaya axis of Ibeju Lekki. In fact, the entire Ibeju Lekki and even Ajah and Sangotedo, zero internal road network.

But come to Port Harcourt, almost all internal roads are tarred. City is serene and neat.

Unfortunately, fools keep defending the ineptitude in Lagos leadership. Either due to ignorance or self sabotage.

From lagos to calabar is their priority. Big shame.

Nigerian government needs to upgrade our border communities to give them a decent look.

If you travel from Ghana to Nigeria by road, the moment you arrive at the immigration office in Nigeria, you know that you are in a big country.

Badagry should get more attention than it already does because that place looks like an abandoned community. First impression matters.

Oga! I'm reside in Lagos and I can tell 100% that road constructed in Badagry dwarfs all those yeye internal road in Port-harcourt. Please don't ever compare Port-harcourt to Lagos. The economic margin is wide. River state should only compare herself with Imo, Delta state. They have similar economic outputs.

All of you will just open mouth and shout since Ambode, how many durable road projects was done by Ambode, aside Abule Egba and Epe axis, point out to any road that is was durable for 6months after construction, same Ambode that isn't aware there are other projects outside Road and Waste mgt, I remember how people were complaining about the state of the state then, Brt was abandoned because he wanted to introduce a new set of Brt bus.

Good one from the Lagos state.

However the governor should just stop jumping up and down to commission small projects, that how he came to my area to commission less than 5km road that has already been in use for about a year. Where are the local government chairmen in all of these? Everything governor , it’s getting nauseating ! After all , a whole president went to commission 30km road and tractors something that supposed to be done by ministers or heads agency. We just celebrate mediocrity in this country because we always settle for less!

We will apply more pressure then cool

You have spoken as a true eyewitness of how real roads with drainages are constructed.

Not the scam roads we see in Lagos that have zero drainage and just compacted laterite soil sprayed with ash color.
Roads that are incomplete and lead to no where.

How much they're generating was his observation, he didn't observe how much they're spending on public infrastructures. Can he compares facilities in general hospital in Lagos with other states, can he compares challenges of maintenance of public infrastructures in Lagos states with others.

Can he compares the development in Lagos States with other states, yet, Lagos is not functioning to him, but it only functions during Ambode's administration.

That's where insensitivity pictures on his write up. Lagos far better than Rivers State he's trying to compare her with on infrastructure.

The Ikorodu road was done by the LG, and it's an inner street road that's less than 200m. That road isn't in the same class as these ones commissioned by the governor.
