I am an Ijaw leader and I'm supposed to know more of this and it is true. North want one term in office for South so they picked Jonathan. They don't want President Tinubu again because he favoured Yoruba instead of them. Peter Obi may decide to not keep the gentle man agreement of one term so they would rather go for who can't break it... I had wanted to support Obi but the Ijaw in me is my identity. Ijaw people won't be happy with me their leader. This is very true. This is a 2 way gambit and I suspect it is the brain child of El Rufai as he seems to be the only person in that kolleshon that has small brain. The first is that only GEJ can do 1 term without drama, Obi is a known liar so no way the north can trust him. The second is that they want to divide the South. So drafting GEJ into the election is more or less to ensure the South has Tinubu, GEJ and Obi. That way the North want to ensure the numbers from the South get divided so that their real candidate from the North (Atiku most likely) can have a much easier ride. They will simply 'chibokize' any Presidency he gains for the entire four years he will warm the seat for a Northerner. I think you underestimate the anger of many Southern leaders, because they are not louding it, against the born-to-rule, imperialistic and hegemonistic shenanigans of the Fulani North. They are causing the biggest problem for Nigeria yet still insisting they must rule directly or be in charge through a Southern Stooge. The attitude is demeaning to most Southern leaders even if followers will not understand that to then think everything is about blindly accepting power when offered. Many Southern leaders, because Tinubu has shown them it can be done, are seeing the need to take a stand against the way the North threat all others as their servants and serfs. Things, per 2027 leadership struggle, are 'dark and not put in the public domain. If people think Tinubu lacks support in the South, because Igbos are hatefullly against him, or the North, because some dishonorable Northerners are most vocal currently, they will see be shocked by how 2027 will unravel. 1 Like |

My question is, if Atiku had won the 2023 election, would he be sworn in as the president, considering it was the turn of the South? If yes, then zoning is a sham. Everybody from any region should contest since it's their constitutional right, if they win then so be it. |
