"GPT‑5 is our strongest coding model to date"

Introducing GPT-5

Our smartest, fastest, most useful model yet, with built-in thinking that puts expert-level intelligence in everyone’s hands.

We are introducing GPT‑5, our best AI system yet. GPT‑5 is a significant leap in intelligence over all our previous models, featuring state-of-the-art performance across coding, math, writing, health, visual perception, and more. It is a unified system that knows when to respond quickly and when to think longer to provide expert-level responses. GPT‑5 is available to all users, with Plus subscribers getting more usage, and Pro subscribers getting access to GPT‑5 pro, a version with extended reasoning for even more comprehensive and accurate answers.

One unified system

GPT‑5 is a unified system with a smart, efficient model that answers most questions, a deeper reasoning model (GPT‑5 thinking) for harder problems, and a real‑time router that quickly decides which to use based on conversation type, complexity, tool needs, and your explicit intent (for example, if you say “think hard about this” in the prompt). The router is continuously trained on real signals, including when users switch models, preference rates for responses, and measured correctness, improving over time. Once usage limits are reached, a mini version of each model handles remaining queries. In the near future, we plan to integrate these capabilities into a single model.

A smarter, more widely useful model

GPT‑5 not only outperforms previous models on benchmarks and answers questions more quickly, but—most importantly—is more useful for real-world queries. We’ve made significant advances in reducing hallucinations, improving instruction following, and minimizing sycophancy, while leveling up GPT‑5’s performance in three of ChatGPT’s most common uses: writing, coding, and health.

Coding

GPT‑5 is our strongest coding model to date. It shows particular improvements in complex front‑end generation and debugging larger repositories. It can often create beautiful and responsive websites, apps, and games with an eye for aesthetic sensibility in just one prompt, intuitively and tastefully turning ideas into reality. Early testers also noted its design choices, with a much better understanding of things like spacing, typography, and white space. See here for full details on what GPT‑5 unlocks for developers.

Artificial intelligence is the stuff of science fiction. Has the potential to fling humanity hundreds of years forward.

My challenge with it is that, paradoxically, it's also making humans less smarter as many people don't think critically anymore and their brains are literally atrophying.

Interesting times

Wow, the world of AI, new revolution is here to stay.
I only fear it'll make more humans dependent on technology, which might create tougher times. Then Business men and creators of this will control or limit our choice.

Wow! This is it!
After using chatgpt, deepseek, grok, meta ai, etc, this is what I should be trying.
Oya na, we move!
Re: OpenAI Launches GPT‑5 by Kobranet123:
Good timing.
My exams are in few weeks.
Gpt4 helped me last semseter.
thank u sam altman
we bout to cook this semseter😎

EDIT:
I don't take chatgpt into the exam hall.
I use it to read and predict likely exam questions based on patterns that the lecturer taught us and it works surprisingly well.

The rate at which they are developing these LLMs is scary. They will eventually beat human intelligence at this pace.

Developers, how's the rise of these super models impacted on your job and career? How's job hunting ?

Could this be true? I see some sense in this claim. Can't wait for a related movie of this line.

Grok is still my guy anyday, anytime..

I searched my name and my business in Gemini, Grok and ChatGPT..

O boy the amount of information Grok revealed about my business and me was scary...I was like WTF!!!

The other AI were very evasive and didn't have much info.. it was then I knew the AI, I did be using regularly.

i prefer grok 4!

Dude knows support and resistance levels of major coins, predicts entry price, take profit and stop loss.
Literally everything you will need to become a pro trader,

GIVE ME GROK 4 EVERY TIME

AI is becoming dangerous. It is eroding trust. We can't tell what is real again.

While some people are thinking of using it for innovation, some are probably planning to use it for propaganda

It is going to lead to generations of dumber humans.

People demand for AI powered Apps these days and developers are there to write them. I for once I am over booked and stressed. Life no start and end for html and csss grin
There is more to coding than that and funny enoiugh, AI platforms keep looking for software engineers to join their team. I have always said it way before now, anything u do in this life, know it from the scratch up. As for those lazy people who always love packages, frameworks, and never be part of people who build those tools, sorry o

Just like humans invented calculator to aid humans in maths calculations.
AI is here to aid humans to fast think and solve human problems.
All for the benefits of mankind.

I'm certain that there's a lot of careers to be made out of AI, prescriptive, descriptive roles within mobile and web apps across health, construction, real estate, ecommerce, education, energy, legals, logistics, government and public offices, entertainment, media, etc.

You can't just be a software developer, you must combine AI, Big Data, Cloud Computing to your programming skills. We need to upskill, reposition ourselves for the opportunities ahead. A lot to do here.

The same was said about calculators—they claimed it stopped us from using our head to solve maths problems | We became more accurate
The same was said about the computers—they claimed it stopped us from using our brains to do simple or complex tasks | We became even faster
The same was said about the internet—they claimed it stopped us from "going to the library" for research | We became more intelligent
The same is said about AI

It's going to be the same lie. It will make us smarter.

ChatGPT is better than Grok .

It's still the best among them perhaps because they're the pioneer .

Sam Altman expresses concerns about AI ability now ,I hope to pay for this version.
