Most likely the candidate might have missed the theory part of the examination.

You can hardly get an A1 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, or such a result with expo.

We all know he or she used English language to attempt other ones above and below or did he or she use French or Swahili?

He must have written the other subjects in his or her native language.

It's very obvious that the glitch happened here. There's no way one would do so well in other subjects taught and printed in English and then fail the very language itself. It is well with Nigeria.

May Nigeria not happen to us. May the goodness and mercy of the Lord be our daily bread. I will be alive to see the Great Nigeria that my children and there's shall joyfully live and thrive in.

WAEC has released a statement, confirming there was a technical glitch. Is it that people do not learn from past experience and are thus, unreasonable?

A 38% pass rate in Nigeria cannot be a problem with the learners. It's an indictment on the educational system.

This is purely an issue from WAEC and not the student.

I think so too,because it is not easy to cheat in English language

Crazy supervisor came that day, money no reach to bribe him or the supervisor is deeper life member or impersonation wasn't possible that day because waec official came.

1. The candidate could have been sick/disoriented on the day of they sat the English language.
2. The examinations were written in a "miracle centre". An external supervisor visited the centre on day of English and they could get bullets.

Reason 2 is more likely.

No big deal. My son had A1 in maths where this one got B2. However,something must have been responsible for the failure in English. Maybe the candidate was sick or something. GCE is around the corner. I'm sure if the candidate can obtain the form, the result would be better

Yes, not with the accessible ones. There were candidate's who couldn't view their results on the waec portal. Those are the affected ones

It doesn't explain getting F9 in Engllish when they got A1 in Marketing and Geography. If this wasn't an error, maybe their center had issues, the student was sick on the exam day, or something happened that didn't allow them to sit for or complete the exam.

I think WAEC has admitted there is an error somewhere, that they should recheck their result after 24hrs

Maybe the English paper had mass cancellation. That's almost how my NECO result look.

Mathematics was cancelled in our school and everyone had F9

The English Objective was in different types. I am sure waec must have programmed the computer marking the OMR in error. For instance, Type A answers were used to mark Type C questions because it just doesn't make sense for 1.2m candidates to fail English.

The error was from exam body itself

English Language is vernacular and strange to my mother's language and tongue, why celebrating other people's languages and discarding ours.

WAEC purposely failed virtually all the Waec candidates this year with that English. They cancelled the leaked English paper and it took them forever to bring the new English paper. Some candidates were still in exam hall till night where if course classes and halls didn't have light. Some used phone Torchlight!

That paper was so messed up. I don't understand why students didn't campaign to have that sham of an exam cancelled and a resit scheduled. Parents too should not take this just like Jamb this year.

Something is definitely wrong with our examination chairmen and council in UTME and WAEC!!!

I was one of those bookworms, there's no way you score F9 in English as a legit bookworm!
