It doesn't explain getting F9 in Engllish when they got A1 in Marketing and Geography. If this wasn't an error, maybe the student was sick on the exam day or something happened that didn't allow them to sit for or complete the exam.

Have you met those Ondo state riverine bookworms before. Those that can’t use past and present tense’s.

I have two of them in my school years and I know them. No way they can get along with English. One of them can’t even use lines on exam sheet, he writes like he is on drawing paper.

You have to know that, all other subject are definitions, explanation with focus on KEY POINTS, to pass, They don’t mark you down for how you express that point. Calculations is just like free points for them.

Anyone who has come across this sets can attest. You be sure they didn’t grow up in Ondo city cos their English is wild.

Yoruba candidate 100%..very intelligent in everything but English

This result indicated a serious case of Malpractices...

A candidate that had Maths A1, Physics A1, Chemistry A1 and etc..

How come the candidate got F9 in English language (afteral he wrote other exams in English)..

Maybe the Invigilator that came on English Language day was very strict and the link of Malpractices was disconnected on that day..

This result should be totally cancelled..

I'm.very certain that this could never be the case in China and other sane countries..and we wonder why we're backwards

Me too. I was wondering the language the student used to score A1s in most of his/her subjects. In my opinion, they probably didn't give her any opportunity to cheat on the day English Language was written.

What sorts of English do you really need to pass other exams? Do you need letter writing or phonetics in Mathematics or Physics?

How much English do you need to pass the rest of the subject? English as a subject will look into your punctuation, spelling etc do you need all that to understand Mathematics or Physics questions?

I know someone who has a similar result. He doesn't need the English result he only needs the chemistry as he had already passed his English in his previous result and had to resit for WAEC cos of his course of study which requires him passing chemistry. So I think it might also be the case for this individual or maybe not.

Those who are EXTREMELY good in physics and chemistry have some exposure to life beyond just the village. I am talking about the norm not just excpetions. Also, written English is different from oral. They might not speak it fluently or even at an acceptable level but they can write and at least score better than F9.

the subject English language is very hard ....,most people don't acknowledge this ....this the same shit happen to me also back then in school...I have to rewrite English.....it looks easy plainly but it's one of the hardest subject to me...all the other science subject I passed all only for English to fail me....the thing is that u don't know when u make an error, unlike mathematics or other subjects...

If they should use a computer for dictating English error on each comment .....u go see say error don full everywhere and most people don't even know they made such grammatical error.

Nigerians matter no dey finish. For the more than 6 years I've been teaching, no WAEC or NECO exam has ever been written by students. They all bring their phones to school on the day of any such exam. The school has already created a WhatsApp group they share expo with all the students. Students no dey even know the exam wey dem go write on that day.

We've been in denial in this country for so many years. Person wey score 156 for JAMB dey carry 5 or 6 distinctions for WAEC. CBT all the way. Each and every student should earn their credits.

Was it not the English Language exam that was written in the middle of the night?

My son had C6 in English, an E8 in Further Maths (which he doesn't need) and the rest were Bs with an A1.

I recall English was done at night, and he had to get a generator to light the exam hall.

He and a classmate connected the gen.

It wasn't funny that night.

I The best English student in a school received a D7, while the olodo received a C6

A 38% pass rate in Nigeria cannot be a problem with the learners. It's an indictment on the educational system.

The quality of any exam or lecturer in Nigeria is dependent on higher failure rate, rather than high success rate.
I remember when I was in year 2, while on vacation some peeps around were arguing about having carry over in higher institutions, na so I hear, it's not possible make you dey higher institution without having reference, except you dey sort with money or kind, I was like wetin be dis, I don use 4semesters already, and I no fail 1course, despite just being an average student in my department, na so I moved away from them before dem go infect me

If he or she can fail English how did he or she manage to pass the other subject cause they are all also written in English
