Absolutely! The hustle and bustle of Lagos is something else! 🚀 It’s fascinating how the city’s energy keeps everyone on their toes. Whether it’s the daily commute or the vibrant street life, it feels like there’s always a race against time. But honestly, where are we all rushing to? Maybe it’s just the Lagos spirit that keeps us moving! What do you all think? Is it the traffic, the jobs, or just the thrill of the city?

If you are not moving fast with them they will make you to, they will say you have pride

The truth is some people move fast because others are doing, even if they just want to buy groceries nearby

It's pathetic
If you don't move fast, those moving fast behind you will push you out of the way.

I could vividly recollect some years back when I went to write a scholarship exam in Lag...that would be my first time of embarking on such trip...on getting to Lagos -ibadan express way down to ibafo before reaching lag sef, traffic just held us up for more than 3 hours before we started heading to the destination ... what a pathetic experience shocked

I have been asking this question for very long time... Not only Lagos. Why are people always rushing out... Who programmed us like that?

There is nothing wrong in meeting up with time ones in a while but why is it everyday with anger and rage?

I value my peace too much and slow mornings. I prefer to go out by 10am calmly and return by midnight.

I just realized it's not possible unless you have your own business and very unique and valuable. Na why I dey study and practice hard. I need to achieve this before 45 and retire to one village with solar panels and starlink and enjoy nature. Nigerian city is not habitable

I get where you're coming from, but I don’t think it’s fair to downplay a job opportunity just because it’s GNLD or because of how the interview is conducted. Every company has its own process, and sometimes even great opportunities come in unexpected packaging. Dismissing it outright might mean missing something worthwhile.

Also, about Lagos — I know it’s chaotic, but it’s still Nigeria’s commercial capital. A lot of doors open there that you won’t even find in Abuja, PH, or Enugu. Lagos isn't for everyone, but it’s wrong to act like no “normal human” lives or thrives there. Millions of hardworking, smart people are building solid lives there every day.

We all have our preferences, sure — but closing off entire cities or judging opportunities based on surface-level impressions might limit growth more than protect it.
Thank you for the constructive criticism of my post.

I can never live in that Lagos very anyone post apocalyptic place.

I remember when I got an interview I travelled from PH to lag on a friday. The interview was scheduled for a Saturday so I stayed in my uncle’s place.

On the morning of the interview I waited at our street for keke like for an hour but none came. I later learnt there was fuel scarcity after finally seeing one we moved a little distance only to jam huge traffic jam.

I asked d driver I thought u said there is fuel scarcity and he said na so Lagos be ooo.

When I reach to bustop wher I would board d bus to the interview location that was even worse.

Traffic Jam noise and air pollution everywhere.
The bus even stained my white shirt and the mumu drive choose to follow a dirty market, I was so drenched in sweat.

I got to the interview an hr late and looking so tattered God saved me the interviewer was a nice person and still interviewed me.

But I made up my mind I won’t take d offer it took me 3 hrs to get to a location that will take me 45mins to jog on a good day.
Define zoo for me... You go know where you go

Not only in Lagos, but everywhere. However, what makes Lagos different is that people believe that if you can't make it there, your chances of succeeding elsewhere are slim.
But that’s not a lie though. Lol

Yes, Lagos is wild. The noise, the traffic, the heat, the unpredictable wahala — it’s almost like living in a survival reality show. But that chaos? It's also what fuels its hustle culture. Lagos runs on pressure, but it produces some of the sharpest, most determined, and quickest people you’ll ever meet.

Take that same day you described: you faced delay, confusion, dirt, stress — yet you still showed up. That’s the Lagos spirit. You had every reason to quit and turn back, but somehow, you got to that interview. Lagos didn’t beat you, it tested you. And the test? You passed it.

Yes, you were late and tattered, but you were there. And the interviewer? They saw that effort too. In Lagos, people recognize that the struggle to show up is part of the story.

Now, for all its madness, Lagos is also the land of opportunity. Many careers are built there, simply because it's where the energy, money, and networks gather. Some people thrive in Lagos not because it's easy, but because it forces you to grow harder edges, sharper instincts, and faster reflexes.

So maybe Lagos isn’t home for you — and that’s fine. But for others, that same chaotic Lagos is where they found clarity, connection, and career.

Different cities, different souls.
Your response is so apt.
