By d way, what stops government from subsidizing d sale of oil lower dan international price to local refineries, so as to get favorable price, good 4 d economy.

That is called dangote gbe won debe pricing and after which he will drop the price drastically and the competition will go into comatose

It should not be a major news when it goes up or down. As long as crude oil price is not fixed. It will always adjust to changes in crude oil price. Even sharp changes in USD to naira will reflect on price.

When I told some supporters of lopsided policies here that it was wrong for FG to have claimed deregulation in petroleum sector and the same time control fuel price by fixing the price of fuel.They argued n.. o ..n ..se...s en se here.
The best would have been to allow the pricing system to run on it own.
It would have definitely been brought down by the competitive market forces.
But the supporters here were thinking otherwise.
Now they have seen it clearly that the fuel price is still being controlled by the FG even after removing subsidy and that it's not healthy for us and our economy.

Some people went as far as saying it's the obidents that are against the refinery. My question now is how come most things obidents said has come to pass. It's clear that dangote is monopolizing the oil industry. He determine when price drop or increase. It's a shame the fg you mentioned used the local refinery for politics and criminality. Dangote is just a business so let him deal with you guys in the language you understand

MRS Import mostly from a plant in Malta

And when you factor in the landing cost 🚢🚢

They still sell it at around #875 per litre in Lagos

So where is the Subsidy here.. ?

Anyone that imports expensive Oil into this country will be forced to use it themselves or sell at a loss

Because Jagaban did not send them message.

We are on the same page.
I don't see any reason FG should removed subsidy and said it will use it to build refineries to boost local production.But fail to do so.
Instead of people to face the FG,they are now blaming Dangote who is a capitalist only interested in profit maximization.
So,me like this,I never for once hyped Dangote refinery as the solution to our fuel problem.

This price hike is definitely going to put more pressure on Nigerians already dealing with high living costs. While Dangote’s refinery was expected to bring stability and reduce import dependence, these frequent changes show there’s still a long way to go before we see real consistency in supply and pricing.
