I have actually watched the full video, and I retract my earlier statement. The pilot does not deserve to have her licence suspended. That Agbero alcoholic fellow will be flight ban for 2 years.

Even if she was cleard to take off, she supposed to alert the tower of the obstacle or hindrance on her way thereby requesting for security or so.

Then during take-off, they put the plane in gear 2. Smaller planes need shorter runway and less speed than bigger planes but it will feel like they're moving faster than bigger planes.

She's happily married to Captain Isaac Ogoyi who flies for Uganda Airlines.

Thank you very much, a lot of people commenting about the reving obviously has never flown or does not pay attention inflight. That Rev noise is normal and you hear it even before the plane starts moving. I think it is used to fire the engine before even before any movement happens. The plane was just taxing to take position for take-off and would have been instructed to do so.

Then on the issue of her not moving at all even if given clearance for take-off, that is true if she knew they were still obstructing her. I believe she had gone into the plane for some time to prepare for take-off which requires several minutes of preparation, so she could have thought that the situation has been handled by security and then she was given clearance to fly. Then where those people are is likely a blind spot, from the height where the cockpit is she probably cant see anything under the nose of the craft except if there is a camera screen that show that spot, she cant possibly see them from the windscreen of the plane.

K1 had no business staying on the tarmac of an aircraft that has been cleared for flight, not to talk of holding the plane hostage. The duty of the captain is the safety of her passenger. K1's act can be likened to terrorism. She acted in the most professional way. Air traffic is not like road traffic or railway.

you are only thinking about K1, what about the faan officials she endangered, it is about safety, you guys just use emotions or politics to judge issues rather than critical thinking

This is the rule, A pilot cannot move an aircraft without clearance from the control tower and assurance that the tarmac is clear. She violation standard operating procedures.

I meant the punishment should go round including the control room and not just suspend her alone. Read my post again - slowly this time around.

I understood what you wrote, the control room controls the runway. The control room can give a pilot clearance, but if the pilot feels it is not safe to proceed, he/she won't. So you can read my own response slowly so you understand.

I have carefully read through all the comments. lets dissect this properly
1. Airplanes have standard ground time allowed by FAAN or relevant agency.
2. The airline will pay charges for every extra minute it stays on the tarmac after ATC clearance.
3. The pilot could not have proceeded without the say so for the airline ground manager and thereafter the ATC.
4. If she had refused to take off and FAAN charges the airline say 5 million naira for non compliance, how many passengers the plane carry self
at what rate, this stupidity is what killed previous airlines, waiting for one stupid VIP and incurring c razy charges.
5. The main culprit here is FAAN for allowing a ranting, drunk, mad man close to the boarding gate in the first place, not to talk of the place stairs where he was refused boarding, resulting in the display of such arrant stupidity quite unbecoming of even my 5 year old grandson.
let's leave the pilot out of this.
