Please could you shed more light on this issue, when am filling the canada tourist visa , i came  across a question that stated ''do you have job in recent country you live'' i cannot say no or yes neither own a business. The reason was that I returned to Nigeria july 2025, since then I have not done any job, because I have no intention to stay long in Nigeria due to the situation of the country. 

However, my work history for almost 3 years is in the UK, i have my offer letter and payslip to prove  that. i left the UK due to my right to work elapsed. currently, i live in nigeria, almost a month now in nigeria. I am applying for a Canadian tourist visa now without a job or own a business to prove as I am living and applying from nigeria. I've prepared all necessary documents for the application, i got stuck when I was filling the form in the stage ''Do you have a job in the country where you currently live? please what can i do to scale through this.

They won’t give.
What is the purpose of trip?
Vacation? As long as you don’t have a job or school or something to tie you down then you are an intending illegal immigrant until proven otherwise.
You can’t use the UK offer letter and payslip to prove ties as your UK visa/residence permit has expired.
Get a job or a letter of intending employment in Nigeria to scale this hurdle.

It would not need to be on the portal. Contact the embassy or write to the immigration directly and they will respond. New information must have come to light, that’s why they denied her boarding. Do not travel on that visa again until you contact them.

It is possible background information shows her conditions have changed or the purpose of the visa was time sensitive. There are several reasons why this happens. I know of a friend who was also recently denied boarding because he was given a visa to attend a conference and now he wanted to go on a visit with the same visa after missing the conference.

She needs to contact the embassy then.

Omg, they are beginning to do too much. Unless it's time specific like conference but then even though

I submitted mine in Lagos. Didn't book any appointment. Just went to VFS and told them I wanted to submit passport based on Canada PPR and I was let in.

Documents I took along:
PPR letter
The passport itself
Copy of passport datapage earlier stamped by VFS
Another copy of passport datapage.

Didn't take time at all. I think I was done in less than 30mins. Didnt pay for courier or sms. I told them I'll pick up by myself.
I submitted on a Friday and on Monday, I was notified by email that my passport was ready for collection. They spammed me with quite a number of emails on that Fri and on the Monday. It was quite irritating.

Wow, thank you very much for the detailed post. I'm not in Lagos/Abuja at the moment, so I won't be able to go in person. For the courier method, I didn't do biometrics cuz I have my old biometrics from years ago on file, so I don't have any document stamped by VFS, I also read that I have to pay for the package transmission fee and all that, but the VFS Global website isn't even working; it's quite confusing.

They did the same thing to my nephew. They denied him boarding, but after back and forth, they asked him to show the invitation letter from his host.

They later allowed him to board when he showed the requested letter.

2023 is a long time. A decision might have been made, or the person is not proactive in handling your application. You would need to insist on ordering your GCMS notes to know what is happening in your application.

Another approach would be to submit a webform, but I guess the agent used his email to apply on your behalf, as IRCC would only respond to the email address submitted with the application. If you know your UCI and application number, you could try ordering your GCMS notes online.

You can use the application status tracker to check the details of her visa or know if the visa is valid or not. You will see her visa number and expiry date. Register with the application status tracker, then log in.

Your agent is fooling you. Decision has been made on your vis application long time ago. You can use the “Application Status Tracker to know the status of your application if you know your application number and the UCI number.

Or

Ask you agent to log in to your account so you can see it yourself.

Stop allowing the agent to fool you.

Thanks so much for revealing this, I don't know the UCI number, is there a way i can get or how i can get to know the decision. I will like to make another application in the nearest future but just to know this outcome from this particular application.

But if the application was done on "GC Key," that will not have the information, and you may just need to rely on your gut and information in the GCMS notes.

Google GCMS notes, and you will see different third-party vendors. When you view each, it would show details on cost.

You can then use any of your choice. Just be patient to read their instructions, as they will likely require you to sign with a blue pen.

With the uci number, open an acct with the ircc tracking portal. You'd need access to the email that was used for the application tho. Cos they'd send a verification number to the mail. Once you get that, you can see what the state of the application is.

Wednesday, November 1, 2023, was 1 year, 9 months, and 10 days ago. Please get GCMS notes and keep us updated. The Facebook agent isn’t telling you the truth.

do you still have to register on the tracker site even if you have a UCI?

I have been trying to log in into the iRCC website to complete my visiiting visa application but it kept saying it does not recognise this user.

Please is anyone having same problem? Or are they undergoing maintenance?
Should I start a fresh application? I was done with the previous one. Just to attach document and submit.

same o I don’t know what’s wrong although my application was fully complete, not letting me reset password either
