Palmpay Seizes My ₦251K Over Fake ₦2,100 Fraud Claim – Is This Daylight Robbery? by shem4soul(op): 6:33pm On Aug 08, 2025
Nairalanders, I need your advice urgently.

I made the mistake of banking with PalmPay despite several warnings from people around me. Now, it has turned into my biggest financial regret.

They claimed my account was “fraudulent” because of a **₦2,100 payment for goods** that came in. Based on that, they froze my account containing **₦251,000** — my hard-earned business funds — and have been using it to run their business while giving me endless excuses.

I have submitted **all required documents**, including my **CAC certificate**, yet they have refused to release my money. Customer service keeps tossing me around without a concrete resolution.

If you think this is just my case, go to PalmPay’s **Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook** pages — the complaints are endless. Better still, visit their offices and see the long queues of frustrated customers having similar issue

Please, Nairalanders, has anyone here faced a similar situation and successfully recovered their money? What legal or practical steps can I take to get my **₦251,000** back from these people?

In my opinion, PalmPay does not prioritize transparency or customer support, and I strongly advise others to think twice before trusting them with your money.

What is the story behind the fraudulent transaction? Was your account mistakenly credited and you refused to return the money? .if yes, then you deserve to be given a bit or run-around before releasing your account. I wish Nigerians can be more proactive like the person that reported your account and stop leaving everything to God.

Hope you know they are rewired required to obtain a Court order before they can do this?

Or, you are just typing based on your level of exposure and understanding.

Approach a lawyer to get a court order for you. Keep around 25k for that. If you cannot afford that, write a letter and tag CBN. Ensure you submit a copy to CBN mail

I Didn't know... It's the account I used to receive transfer of goods bought at my store... PalmPay said it's because of 2100 I received some months ago.. The funniest thing is that I was not notify at all and I have been to thier office submitted all the required documents inclusive of my CAC, no resolution.. I have meet more than 30 users both at thier office and on thier social media page having similar issue... What they tell users is we are working on it for months

I wasn't informed at all.. I just wanted to restock and I discovered that I can't transfer.. Thought thier server was down until the following day, called thier customer care they told me it's because of d 2100 I received... I went to thier office, I question thier staff that if that is so, why can't you place restriction on the amount involved and call me to come over..instead they restricted all the money in my account..They were just making excuses
