It's a circle, but only responsible children who have mercy in their heart usually do this without excuse even if their parents are still very wealthy in their old age. It's one of the best of kindness to can ever practice.

Nobody owes you any information on how much they've spent on their parents. If you're thinking you haven't spent enough on your parents, then it's safe to say you need to spend more. No need to ask others on how much they've spent on their parents.

There's no benchmarking for spending on your parents and no need to ask what people spend on their parents. It's an individual decision.

This spending is black tax for those abroad but not all financial spending can make sense, some of them are emotional and you will keep paying for your absence. You never know when they will be gone so you will spend to take care of them. Forget what anyone there is saying about Dangote or Otedola, I don't think those people have responsibilities because even if your parents are doing well, there's this blessing that finance cannot explain that comes with taking care of your parents. No be everything de textbook. You just have to experience some things. Some religion consider it as charity

I know some people have a problem where parents are demanding or the parents are spending the money you send them helping other people, see I cannot explain everything in life and we cannot understand everything about life. You will get to a stage where you will be looking for loved ones to spend money on. Money, energy and time are not always the same. You will make more money and still have some energy to make more money but you don't have enough time to be with them.

Spend on your parents and indulge them a little. You need their prayers as you are growing old. I know say for oyinbo life, they cut the cord very early but Africans are rooted in community and we will continue to keep the connection. One love Africa ❤️
