kunle4toyeyaho:"great improvement" where? what is the "great improvement" in electricity road construction, health care and education? what is wrong with paying fuel subsidy? the person who was using crude to pay fuel subsidy, was he not the one that tinubu said was the "only solution"? |

[quote author=Estello post=136393617] was exactly what I said a few months ago. Preach PBAT's works and policies to the people. Most Nigerians have been poisoned not to like him already. They failure to sleep last night or have a proper shit this morning is because of PBAT. Do try to convince them. Just show them that the man is doing the job even if you do not like him. You do not have to like or love PBAT. Nobody send you that one. Is he doing the job of the President as it should be? That is the question to be considered. Is he repositioning the country to become a better and prosperous nation in another 10, 15, 20 years? If the answer is yes,, I do not care if go hungry today. Cos my children will eat good tomorrow. That is what we should all be looking out for. |

LaIabobo:I think this kind of subsidy will benefit the common man in long run. FG shouldn't have problem paying considering the huge savings from initial subsidy removal. Infact I will love this kind of project is replicated in every state capital in Nigeria and heavily subsides for citizenry. |

ProudlyLagos:What i understand is that, people really suffer in this administration, it never campaign of removing subside, only to remove it even before assuming office, immediately pushed people on the line of suffering. It's a case of dredgging a river without design which lead flooding to nearby communities, only to be looking for away of mitigation. Hence, you hear billions here and there. Reverse back to 2023 would have been better, but no longer possible, we have be caught off guide by other nations activities across the globe, Nigerian are in for it. Give another opportunity, Nigerians would suffer for another full administration. For those who collected money during convention how far, have they finished the money? They should come to eagle square and collect another one to sell their conscience as usual. |

Sir, if a serious personality that over power drafting bill against convicted corrupt officials, show activeness and tirelessness in his first four years the masses will willingly want such continuity and gave him other term, and even after finishing the two term.(you can't seat down in Abuja and think the governors of the 35 aside fct state will do d right thing when nobody to oversee their activities..becuz if d governors are pushing the agenda of d president, are they supposed to b budgeting billions of naira just to renovate government building??. He need to b on their neck, bcuz after improve allocation what are they doing with it?? Come to their various state let them explain how they utilize their fund..but no from president to the governors it's a pady pady things,..nobody to rebuke the other)..people will b glad if he can recommend another person to continue his good work... Everybody knows who prioritize them to eye service one..it's just mindset having a fair and striving environment for all is achievable.💯 benardtotti: |

"I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody" - Late President Mohammadu Buhari. This was the famous speech made on his inauguration as President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces. Truly, words are cheap! When it came to practicality, Buhari belonged primarily to the North as every critical and prominent position of authority went to his kinsmen. One had thought Tinubu would not toe this same selfish, divisive and clannish line. Alas! Nigeria has now moved from "Northernization" of the Buhari years to unabashed "Yorubanization" under the Lagos Papa Lolo, sorry, Lagos Boy. After receiving re-election victory threats from the Northern oligarchs, Baba Seyi is now crawling on all fours in order to please them or risk re-election come 2027. This mindset of the winner-takes-all would continue to constitute an impediment to the overall unity of this country. All Nigeria needs is a leader who sees every nook and cranny of the country as his constituency and not some hegemonic leadership or leadership by patronage. @hotseat |

adexpa:Best comment here but unfortunately most Nigerians don’t understand how infrastructure actually connect to their personal livelihoods. They always think they must be given handouts directly to their mouths or pockets. And I think it’s like that all over the world humans are naturally selfish always thinking things must be given to them directly rather that collective good for all. Maybe it’s time govt in Nigeria try the European approach of socialism give the citizens all they want in terms of welfare but tax them heavily to collect back whatever you gave them perhaps Nigerians may prefer that 😂 |

Light rail in Lagos is funded by the state government. Why is FG getting involved in this. Let Kano state fund their project |

Extending the railway from Itakpe (Kogi State) to Kubwa (Abuja) connecting Kaduna State should be the priority of FG instead they are starting new one's they can't complete. |

| Re: President Tinubu Approves ₦1.5 Trillion Light Rail Project For Kano by professorPABX: 9:48am On Aug 09, 2025 |
LaIabobo:Firstly, they (NORTH) demanded for it. Tinubu has just spent 2 years and it looks as if we have never had Government before in Nigeria. It is as if this is the first Government in power judging by opposition and agitations against the government in Services delivery and provisions. We never had this kind of agitation under the previous Government in power. I respect Mallam Nasir El Rufai because of his intellect and courage. I have known him since military era having followed his non state actor advocacy movement - Gamji Forum and through rough his working with General Abdulsalam Abubakar and OBASANJO . Lagos State through Baba Lateef JAKANDE designed a Masterplan for Metroline in Lagos and awarded the contract despite stiff opposition from Federal Government but moved ahead. Now, the military coup came in 1984 and terminated the project. Tinubu Government designed an intra Lagos rail project, implementation started from Fashola. Last year, the Federal Government through MOFI approved funding (loan) for the Light Rail Project from CMS to Lagos Free Trade Zone area. In the wake of various oppositions from NORTH against Tinubu complaining of favoritism to the South, Nasir El Rufai complained about why the Federal Government should finance the Lagos Light Rail Project? I saw it, I marvelled. This is because at his level of intellect, he should know MOFI is an instrument and Lagos would pay. Also, Federal Government is making billion of dollars from investments along CMS, across CMS(Apapa) and Lagos Free Trade Zone. Later, I saw that Kaduna, Kano have also been given the same facility considering the one in Abuja is under Federal Government obligation. So, they demanded for it and got it. Kano is a commercial centre, highly populous and very rich as well. |

Goke7:Yes, humans are self plus Nigerias are emotionally driven. They closed their eyes to any good deed that’s not coming from their loved ones. The best way to drive Nigerians is not to care about their cries and keep doing what they need and not want. The hallmark of a great leader is to focus on the need and not want of people. Singaporeans were not jubilating or happy when Lee kua yuan took the deep transformation that brought Singapore to where they are today, but he took the step anyways in spite of hardship and tough moments( he would have chose to beg Malaya or start begging other countries for alliance, but he focus on reviving their inner potential which doesn’t come easy but they are better for it now). If a ladder does not have what he really wants to do before office, he will keep listening to people and he will never do what is right. Buhari said he wanted to remove subsidies but every time he seek for advice around it the response is always ….don’t do it. Nigeria needs tough and patriotic leaders |

adexpa:One of the best comment I have seen on nairaland But for me I prefare the American capitalist system, no subsidies, no socialist approach Reduction of taxes for companies that produce their goods in the country And government should only focus on infrastructures that help businesses to prosper |
| Re: President Tinubu Approves ₦1.5 Trillion Light Rail Project For Kano by immaculatesense(m): 10:16am On Aug 09, 2025 |
Kukutente23:Why all the now Oga? Is Tinubu not budgeting for the Green rail in Lagos which is state owned because Lagos is the commercial hub of the South and the country? Is it then bad to do the same for Kano which is the Commercial hub of the North? Tinubu is the president with swags and prospect. What is good for Lagos is good for Kano. What is good for Calabar to Lagos is good for Sokoto to Badagry (Lagos). Stop hating. Embrace goodness my bro. No Be Juju Be Dat? |

slimthugchimee2:Yes, that’s what we need, but we’re still more in foundation because the previous government decided to give our money to few elites in the name of subsidies and then abandon infrastructures that’s suppose to drive a prosperous society. It’s not that America have the best leaders now, but because their father did the early work to position the country for upward projections . When the foundation is right, all you need is just a manager with patriotic spirit . What we need now is a bold, sound, courageous and patriotic leaders who will focus on building the foundation in spite of what the citizens may keep saying( citizens do not know what they need, they only know what they want) |

adexpa:I agree, but most Nigerians don't think this way, and it's hard. You see, that emotionally driven thing you mention is a huge problem. God help us! It's now that I understand why most state Governors don't do much; they know their people don't want what they need. |
| Re: President Tinubu Approves ₦1.5 Trillion Light Rail Project For Kano by adexpa(m): 10:56am On Aug 09, 2025 |
Goke7:Exactly. Most Nigerian leaders are just massaging the want of their people, they focus on earning their love and praise. Some Nigeria leaders wants to remain in office forever by installing someone they want after their tenure; that’s why they must please the people by supplying their wants and not need. Quote……a true leader plant trees they may not sit under |

indeed, do you have verifiable link to back up your claims? Or it’s just one of Una usual propaganda. Even after reading that 1billion dollars was just approved by the govt, you still come out to misinform the public. Do you think to undertake a light rail project is cheap? Even some countries don’t have it and Lagos state is the only state that have the finance to embark on such project.
