A growing wave of political consciousness and public demand for accountability is sweeping across Nigeria as citizens nationwide intensify calls for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to publicly address the long-standing controversy surrounding his alleged forged academic certificate. With the 2027 presidential elections looming closer, many Nigerians are boldly declaring: “No clarification, no candidacy!” In a climate marked by rising political awareness and emboldened civic engagement, citizens from various walks of life — youth activists, civil society groups, political analysts, and even members of the ruling party — are insisting that Tinubu must publicly clear the air on the certificate saga that has cast a shadow over his political career for decades. On social media platforms, street corners, town halls, and radio call-in shows, a singular message is echoing: transparency or step aside. Hashtags like #TinubuMustExplain and #NoClarificationNoContest are trending on X (formerly Twitter), with thousands calling on the President to either address the issue head-on or withdraw his 2027 re-election ambition. > “We are tired of recycled silence. If the President wants our votes in 2027, he must face the people and tell the truth about the certificate saga. Enough of the hide-and-seek,” said Chika Umeh, a youth leader from Enugu. Others argue that if Tinubu remains silent, it sets a dangerous precedent for future leaders and undermines the credibility of Nigeria’s democratic process. The controversy, which first gained traction years ago, alleges that President Tinubu may have submitted questionable academic credentials during his political career. Though the matter has seen various legal and political twists, the President has largely sidestepped directly addressing the Nigerian people about it. While his supporters maintain that the saga is politically motivated and legally resolved, critics argue that silence in the court of public opinion speaks volumes. “You cannot aspire to lead a country and remain mute on a matter that questions your integrity. Nigerians deserve clarity, not courtroom technicalities,” noted Dr. Hadiza Garba, a political analyst based in Kaduna. With a growing youth population and a tech-savvy electorate demanding accountability like never before, 2027 is shaping up to be a defining moment for Nigerian democracy. Political observers say the tide is changing, and the old playbook of political evasion is losing its magic. “Tinubu may have survived the storm in 2023, but 2027 is a different beast. Nigerians are no longer interested in myths and mysteries. They want facts, receipts, and honesty,” said Ugochukwu Adewale, editor-in-chief of The Nigerian Mirror. As the pressure mounts, all eyes are now on Aso Rock. Will President Tinubu finally break his silence and address the nation in an open, honest declaration? Or will he continue to treat the saga as a non-issue — risking not just his political future, but the trust of a nation? For many Nigerians, the answer is simple: “Come clean or don’t come at all.” |

Tinubu will never answer Nigerians, but his co-conspirators will be here to defend him. This is one of his defenders now.

What Tinubu needs to address are too many. First, he should address his forged certificate. Secondly, he should address his age that keep reducing instead of increasing by the day. Secondly, he should come out clean and tell Nigerians that he is actually from Iragbiji Osun state and not Lagos state where he was adopted at teenagehood. Then he needs to address his sudden name change from Sangodele to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Then he needs to address the main reason he forfeited thousands of US dollars to US government as a plea bargain. He also need to address what the Bullion van found in his private residence was doing on eve of election day. And lastly he needs to address that he was doing inside a helicopter in Guinea Conakry with some white powder around the helicopter. Let me stop here for now. |

ch214:Even if Tinubu presents tissue paper as certificate, we will vote for him. He is the president and he has performed well. Right now, what we should base his reelection on is his performance not some certificate. He is not a newbie. His certificate is a non-issue. Anyone still thinking about Tinubu's certificate right now is on a long thing |

Enice:You talk without thinking. You said if tinubu present tissue paper as certificate and you will vote him: you can continue to show the public your tribalistic attitude. |

1nice:You're the one talking without thinking. First of all, opening a thread on an issue that has been settled in court shows a ton of stupidity. It shows subversion. What anyone should be thinking right now is governance not clout chasing! |

Enice:You're the one talking without thinking. You are the one who thinks it has been settled but the truth is that it has not been settled. It shows how uniforms you are. shows a ton of stupidity. What you should be thinking right now is for tinubu to come out publicly to clarify his forge certificate sage and not clout chasing. |

Softmirror:We'll see about that! Campaigns are about ideas, policies, and connecting with voters. If there's a strong case against, it could still resonate. The electorate's perception matters more than predictions. ![]() |
