USA does not have a provision for airside transit (even for 30 minutes ) in which you (a passenger ) can remain in the secure area of the airport without going through the immigration. The summary is that : if your nationality requires a visa to enter the US, you will need a transit visa (C-1) or ESTA.

I would rather you booked a direct flight or the one that will not stop over in the US. 👍

I asked a simple question here and someone dmed me telling me he has solution to something I never requested for his help for. He went further to attach a cost in helping to fast track a passport maybe thinking he’s dealing with a novice.

Pls I submitted my F1 application on the 24th of July and i made an emergency Request for an appointment and still no response and my school starts August 18th.... I just don't know what to do.

The rule says " Every F1 visa applicant who do not have his or her desired interview date from the beginning must use the last resort aka emergency appointment 3- months before resumption.

Based on the review above, you did not follow the rule of Emergency Visa appointment application. Nevertheless, students can still secure expedited appointments regardless of the time you applied but , The U.S. embassy will use their rules and policy to ignore you when there are too many applicants to attend to.

Your last option now is to start raising a support ticket or keep gambling with reschedule options if you still have it. You may also try to re-apply for another ER. 👍

We are trying to book flights now and we see that united airlines will layover in texas for 2 hrs nd go from there. Do we need a transit visa to do this? Does anyone have any info please?

hello, pls i am having issues proceeding to booking interview. this is where i am. the post as refused to come up since like 4 days now. i sent a mail, they said maybe my browser. i used both moxilla, chrome , explorer.. same. i tried ghana, it came out with all the drop downs but for lagos and abuja, i am unable to choose a post. note it is a new application for my baby.
i went through 'pending request' that has been booting since like forever. what can i do please.

Secondly, is it a problem if my DS-160 confirmation page has Abuja while I was able to secure an appointment in Lagos?

I made sure the DS-160 number/barcode matches the one on the appointment confirmation page.

Hello.

I hope you have not bastardized your baby's application page. What are you going to do in Ghana AVITS for the sake of trial and error ? Those moves can corrupt your avits page on security ground.

Anyways, family application is a complex procedure at times , starting from ds -160 and mrv payment. You must also be applying for the same visa type with all of your family accompanying persons but with option of grace for 1 applicant with a different visa type. There are many questions to ask because I am certain you have done something wrong. Did you pay visa fee together? How many are you ? Have you gotten your date first ? Etc

Delete the current pending appointment for your baby and start all over. Let's see if you will scale through. 👍

Yes, it is a problem if your DS-160 states Abuja as your interview post while your visa appointment is indicating Lagos post as your interview location.

Making sure your DS-160 confirmation number tallies with the one reflecting in your visa appointment letter is not the only rule. Your ds-160 confirmation number may tally with your visa appointment letter while your ds-160 embassy post (eg Abuja) may differ to your appointment letter interview post (eg Lagos).

In summary, you must also make sure that The location you picked in your DS-160 is the location that reflects in your visa appointment letter. Ie DS-160 location A = Abuja .... Appointment Letter Location A = Abuja. This is what the embassy wants. If you fill another Abuja DS-160 in this scenario in order to add additional information, then that DS is now Abuja DS-160 B, so you must go to AVITS and update the new Abuja DS-160 B confirmation number in order to change the old one in your appointment letter. Your visa appointment letter will now be printed as Abuja Appointment Letter B after the update. 👍
