Drama as Enugu Priest Smashes Beer Bottles, Disrupts Women’s Meeting Inside Church

Tension filled St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Idedu, Etiti Amokwe, Enugu, when the parish priest clashed with members of the women’s group during their annual August meeting.

According to eyewitnesses, the priest had earlier instructed the women to hold their gathering at another venue — away from the church altar — insisting that the meeting should not take place inside the church building. However, for reasons best known to them, the women went ahead and set up their meeting inside the church, right in front of the altar.

When the priest discovered this, he became visibly furious. In a shocking outburst that has since gone viral online, he stormed into the gathering, disrupted the event, and smashed bottles of beer the women had brought with them.

It was because he asked them to have it at the parish HQ and they refused. That church has been clamouring for their own parish for some years and feel the priest is resisting it.

Catholic priest don't have wife and Jesus also did the same thing in the temple after people turned the temple from a house of prayer to a den of robbers. The church and the alter should be sacred and should not be joked with at all.
If these were Muslims , no time people will chant blasphemy and they will stone those women to death. It may sound barbaric but it is very effective in preventing people from joking with Muslims and desecrating their religion.
