Hello, guys!

It's become a norm in our societies today seeing pastors, evangelists, and upcoming Xtian brothers and sisters preaching along the roads, in the markets, in parks etc. I have also noticed that less or no individual listens to their preaching because of busy schedules.

My question is; is it really necessary? Does it serve the purpose it's intended?
What's your take on this?

That manner of preaching only adds to the noise pollution we have in our society.

Motorists generate their own noise, shops use generators and sound system to contribute their own, preachers have to do their own.

They are misinformed churchgoers!

Preaching in Bible times was two types?

First was the preaching God's prophets did before our common era (b.c.e) back then the nation of Israel had two Kings the first is their God who brought them out of Egypt and conquered all inhabitants of Canaan for His worshipers to inherit the place this King is a Spirit who lives forever the other kings were humans that Israelites later demanded for themselves! 1Samuel 8:6-7
Their real King (God) has the right to send town criers (prophets) to deliver urgent messages or warnings to them so this prophets (town criers) can stand in any of their streets or cities to deliver the message of their God (King) at any time.
But in our common era (c.e) things have changed a lot the Israelites had turned against their God (King) countless times {Matthew 21:43} so this King or God no longer send town criers (prophets) to enter into their streets shouting.
WHY? Because by the time Jesus walked the earth another nation out of several nations that's been ruling over Israelites is in charge of their public affairs so it is inappropriate for any town crier (prophet) to enter the streets shouting in the name of any God as their rulers may take such as disturbing the peace in their domain that's the reason why God did not send John the baptist into their towns or streets when it's time for this prophet to declare the coming of Christ rather this prophet was shouting in the wilderness! Matthew 3:1
So it was in the wilderness that faithful Jews were going to meet this prophet to know the message their God had for them! Matthew 3:5-6

After Jesus (a carpenter) got baptized by John it was revealed to John that this is the Christ that John came to prepare the way for {John 1:33} so Jesus took over the job from John the baptist and from that moment John began receiving less attention while Jesus started getting more {John 3:25-30} that was how Jesus began preaching and teaching and all the people were going to him.

QUESTION!
Was Jesus shouting in the streets?
ANSWER!
NO!
He first gathered his trusted childhood friends and started going from house to house preaching and the theme of his preaching is the same as that of John the baptist {Matthew 3:2; 4:17} but instead of shouting in the wilderness he approaches doors and greets householders before delivering his speech this reminded his disciples of what has been foretold about the Christ:

Look! My servant, whom I support! My chosen one, whom I have approved! I have put my spirit in him; He will bring justice to the nations.  He will not cry out or raise his voice, And he will not make his voice heard in the street. No crushed reed will he break, And no smoldering wick will he extinguish. In faithfulness he will bring justice. He will not grow dim or be crushed until he establishes justice in the earth; And the islands keep waiting for his law. Isaiah 42:1-4 compare to Matthew 12:19
So Jesus commissioned the preaching and teaching of God's Kingdom message from house to house and door to door so that his real disciples don't disturb passersby with noise. They are to go and knock people's doors, greet householders and ask for permission to speak before delivering their messages! Matthew 10:11-13
Do you know a religion whose preaching and teaching activities is the same as this today?

No impact at all..

Just some people causing noise pollution and disturbing peoples ear with all sort of fairytales..

These foreign religion are one of the basic problems we have in this part of the world. Religion has no usefulness, to me! It’s a pure scam!

Nigerians are spending millions of dollars to go to some foreign countries, in the name of Holy land. The Muslim ones have been paying millions to stone an imaginary devil for more than 50years with nothing to show for it at all..

All the millions they have been dashing Isreal & Saudi, if those money are being spent in Nigeria, the country would have been way better than this!

Months ago, In Anambra state, road side preacher was arrested by the govt, he was supposed to pay 500k but soludo had compassion on him and strictly warned him not to do that again but rather he should go to his church and preach there

He that will hear, will hear and he who won't will not. If you have not yet given your life to Christ and set free from sin, let that be your priority and make sure that problem is solved before it will be too late.

no! it does, you are just a public nuisance and causing public unrest. there is one mad man i have noticded at agric bus-stop, by 7;00am he's already making noise, to even make it funnier, he has his offering and tithe boxes there

It’s because government agencies saddled with the responsibilities of enforcing these laws are just there in their various offices collecting salaries while neglecting their official obligations with impunity.

Some of those who constitute such nuisances are liable to fines or jail time of not more than 3 years imprisonment, depending on the circumstances.

Zero impact. That's why it's banned in developed countries.

E get 3 guys for that ikeja along before national wey dey preach every morning. If you do the calculation, they are wasting their time. Even in traffic, passengers only get about 20 secs of what they are preaching. Why waste so much precious energy.

All the preaching. Nigeria no go anywhere.

It does before, but now with many people's eye opened and have seen the hypocrisy of Christians and Christianity, IT'S JUST NOISE AND PUBLIC NUISANCE NOWADAYS.

what's "our" take? If you really cared why not ask those directly involved in those evangelism instead of asking the general public.

You noticed? How did you notice, did you stand and watch or you were passing by?

I see what they do as constituting nuisance, nothing more nothing less

They don't have any impact. It is more of a disturbance than a sermon

As long as the end products are offering and seed sowing in the hands of the business man preaching, definitely a huge impact is made
