If aesthetics is priority; flat/hidden roof works, but budget for thick guage aluminium longspan , proper slope, and strict maintenance.

If low maintenance is priority; hip roof is safer, though less “modern” visually.
But if saving cost is the reasoning you're opting for flat roof, not advisable....

I will always prefer the send down the rain roof' because I have seen luxury properties built decades ago with such roof design yet the beauty is still obvious in till today. The first day I saw send down the rain roof done with Romano stone coated I was marvelled by the beauty, I couldn't help but pause and watch. I will go for it anytime, any day not because it is cheap but because it is beautiful.

Send Down the Rain roof has stood the test of time here.
With Stone-coated roofing sheets, it’s not just fine to look at, it’s tough against our heavy rains.

As long as the installation and underlay are top quality, you’ll enjoy both beauty and durability for decades. 👌🏾

Funny enough, these days stone-coated tiles are actually cheaper than aluminium longspan…
The only thing is; they gulp a lot more wood during installation because of the batten system.

So while the sheet price is friendly, you have to budget for the extra woods compare to aluminium roofing sheet.
Everything has its balance. 😉

I am glad that roofing is a topic at the moment. An engineer recommended flat roof for me as a way to save cost. I smiled when I read here you are against it. I decided against it too.

Now I am at the point of roofing my project and I can't decide between aluminium and metro. The latter is cheaper in terms of the material but I was told that when I combine the cost of Purlins used to do it that it will amount to the same cost of using Aluminium.

Now I am confused : they say for aesthetics that Metro looks good in the eyes.

I was wondering in terms of heat resistance which one absorbs more heat because I plan that my folks will stay at the top floor when done.

Why would anyone one of you go for Metro and not Aluminium?

Big tragedy don hit Idumoza community for Uromi, Edo State, as hotel wey never even complete don collapse—kpuff the owner, Mr. Harrison Isesere.

The incident happen on Friday, August 1, as the man dey inside the building. Over 20 workers manage escape with their lives, but Harrison no lucky—na on Sunday morning dem finally recover him lifeless ßody from the rubble.

Neighbours for the area don talk say dem warn am tire say the materials wey e dey use no strong at all.

“He dey use 12mm rod instead of 16mm. Even the pillar no get proper base,” one neighbour yarn. “We talk, he no gree hear.”

Wetin pain pass be say no qualified engineer dey on site—na just the owner dey supervise everything with him eye.

Another sad reminder say cutting corners for building project fit turn to RIP.

I'm rilly working on a very tight budget,I know HDF are strong and nice but going fo that option would set my project back by over 2million, and my projection for doors is about 1million tops. Hence my choice to go for watson or these budget friendly american panel doors for internal rooms but I'm sceptical about the quality of those door,especially the american panel doors.Thanks all thesame.
