https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vvwM51IrbM The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has advocated a single term of five years for the office of the President of Nigeria. Obi said this would make the occupier know that they have a job to do within the limited time available. He said this was the practice in South Korea, where the president cannot seek re-election after a single term of five years in office. ‘If I have the opportunity, we should stop having a second tenure for presidents. It should be five years,” Obi said.

yarimo:Obi is always quoting foreign countries. No originality in his opinion. The other time it was China, Indonesia, Malaysia. Now it's South Korea. When he wants to deceived the gullibles he invokes foreigners achievements. When will he start telling us what he achieved as Anambra gov for 8 years? |

This conversation Obi have opened should be another opportunity to pass a single term of 5 years into law by senate and House of Representatives. Obasanjo brought up the idea towards the twilight of his presidency but it was shot down. Jonathan brought up the same and it was shot down two. Campaign for second terms usually starts two years into a term and the whole focus of leadership shifts to clinching a second term instead of serving the masses but if there is no second term on the plate they will start working for the people from day one. To buttress that argument further most past governors and presidents put in more effort in second term at serving the people than first term. One single term when passed into law will benefit the masses the most |

Max24:Those countries are countries that have moved from adversity to prosperity in the past 30 -40 years and what he is doing is using them as a yardstick or benchmark s of how Nigeria can do the same…similar to the way youngsters lookup to a successful person that made it after adversity out of their neighborhood…but seriously nobody should be explaining something as basic as this to anybody above 18 years…but I don’t know your age though |

rinzaugustine:That was not necessary. For his supporters all they needed to do is go to Anambra where he once governed and show us pictures of his achievements when he was gov. Is that so hard to do? The other time Reno went to the archives and showed us pictures of mega millenia schools started, and completed by Tinubu. Let Obi start quoting from his achievements and leave other people's imaginary achievements. |

You are sounding as if Peter Obi wasn't in a political office before in his life...Why can't he give us details of what he did to move Anambra state from adversity to prosperity in his 8 years as governor then ? rinzaugustine: |
