Maybe your area is an exception. But for a lot of Nigerians, the reality is that power has improved considerably. You can see screenshots of people from Lagos, Abuja, Gusau, Jos, Ibadan, Ilorin etc all over the thread and they are all saying the same thing.
power has improved in Lagos not all of Nigeria. I stay in Oyo state, and the light here is beyond comatose.

Power has improved where?

The problem with Tinubu supporters is that they politicize everything.

Electricity supply nationwide is still epileptic. Ask people and they would tell you.

Which kind lie be this.. From time memorial there are always some selected places with enough power supply especially those on 33kva but are in the minority, they are also the ones found on band A mostly.. The largest percentage of people around 80 to 90% are on 11kva and these are the people with 5hr, 2hrs, 0hrs and some 7 to 10hrs give or take.. The locations get rotated depending on lobbying of the people in the area.. Some area on 33kva could get swapped to 11kva and some on 11kva could negotiate their way into 33kva..however there are locality that are new with few households around and major power lines passing through them, these people always have constant light reason why you ton villages there will be light.. Also light gets better during raining season and this is fact from history..Enough of silly propaganda all to whitewash failures.. There is no improvement anywhere
don't mind paid propagandist. Light improved in Lagos Band A, they term it all of Nigeria. Once the raining season is over we will reset back to zero light. Power was even way better under Buhari than what we have now. If you're not in Lagos, then consider your light very poor.

this is a normal, once the raining season is over, we reset to zero. This is a yearly trend.
So all the posters testifying to improved power supply live in a different Nigeria from you, that they cannot tell the difference between rainy season surge and genuine power improvements?

You think you are the only person with sense In Nigeria?

are they really real people

Cos I stay at front of egbin power station and ijede general hospital we hardly have 3hrs power supply per day

All these to promote tinubu reelection in 2027 shocked
Bro, I read a broadcast from TCN informing the public that a transformer caught fire at Egbin power station. Reason for the blackout and intermittent supply in Ikorodu areas.

Bro, you are wrong and will remain in darkness if you think the testimony of many Nigerians can somehow be a conspiracy "to promote tinubu reelection in 2027".

kindly petition your local DISCO office to find out if there may be a generation issue related to infrastructure.

OP is entirely correct because majority can testify to the work of Adelabu, Minister of power, per vastly improved and never before seen (at least in my lifetime) constant power supply mainly aided by much improved efficiency in the distribution end that higher tariffs introduced have more than justified.

I live in Lekki phase 1 and dabble in property development across the Island up to Ajah and Sangotedo which are tending towards Epe.

We have had steady power supply in my residence for like three to four months now with stretches of even four to five days of constant power. Same extends to areas across the Island I have property development interests in.

I don't have to reveal the above but do so to challenge others to fact check and discredit me if I lie and your sort are correct trying to insinuate the situation in your area is general across Nigeria. It is by being real we can change Nigeria for better and not with lies or pursuit of hidden agendas.

Many ordinary Nigerians have no interest interest in fooling anyone because of any 2027 political agenda. Residential and business power users are just happy to confirm they are getting constant power supply that is aiding them to make progress.

Politicians come and go whereas progress is what upright Nigerians should seek always and should be duty-bound to confirm when they experience it.

Again, if you really want steady power others are enjoying, then get in touch with your power DISCO to understand if there is an issue you can lobby your LGA chairman or legislature to look into. That is their job.

Your situation, assuming you are even telling the truth, is abnormal for the much improved current state of affairs many Nigerians are now enjoying.

Begin by doing something about it rather than think all others are in your shoes or working for Tinubu's re-election.
pls don't call those testimonies that of Nigerians. Nigeria has 36 states and the FCT. You don't base your analysis or assumption on just Lagos and Abuja. 90% of those that commented are based in Lagos. People living in other states can't say same about power improvement.
Re: Nigerians Express Happiness Over Improved Power Supply Nationwide by Kemetian: 4:27pm On Aug 10, 2025
The sad thing about this is that many Nairalanders who are enjoying improved power supply refuse to say a word, or worse, lie about having no light, due to political affiliation.

It’s unfortunate.

did you see the location they are all posting from? Egbeda, Ayobo etc. All these are locations in Lagos. What is Nigeria's current generating capacity?

Majority of the places in Lagos were migrated to band A, hence the increased light. For every improved light you see in Lagos, an area in Band C to E is paying dearly for it.

What has this got to do with Tinubu’s 2027 reelection bid? See, those are Nigerians like you who are simply narrating their reality. You can go on the thread and engage them. You can’t stop people from expressing their reality simply because you don’t like Mr. President.
What reality, please? It seems Nigerians truly have short memories. You people only sing one chorus: “Light has improved,” “How’s the power situation in your area?” and the ever-famous “Buhari’s body language.” And conveniently, these praises usually come between May and November; the rainy season when hydro power systems are naturally working better.
But as soon as December to April rolls in, we’re fed the same tired excuses: vandalism, sabotage, technical faults, and every story in the book.

The question I still don’t have an answer to is, who exactly do us like this?

Improved power supply nationwidehuh Yet Emeka Ofor and EEDC have thrown Enugu state into darkness!

This one is Igbo killing his own Igbo brothers o, making me to wonder if it wouldn't have been better to sell EEDC to a non-Igbo entrepreneur!

This is how Emeka Ofor uses his connection to ASO rock and their Ogboni cult to squander and corner federal benefits due for the southeast!

Federal government should please stop giving contracts for projects in Igboland to Emeka Ofor! That man has killed the region for his selfish interests! Enough is enough!

Funny how same thing happens every year but people still dont realise the trend.

Its the peak of of the rainy season,l when the weather is coolest. Power demand drops drastically so there's less load shedding and this translates to more power.

We know you people. Always bitter about any good news about Nigeria. But the reality is that people are enjoying improved power supply and they are happy about it. And mind you, it has nothing to do with the rain. Almost 90% of our power generation comes from gas.

You and your fellow co-travellers can continue to live in denial.

Let people continue to day dream. What's total ouptutof electricity in the country for now and the output 8 years ago. Don't deceive yourself Sir/Ma, those areas that were enjoying light before now have been short changed to either have 3 hours or none per day and those areas that had none or 3 hours before are given more as per hour of electricity consumption.

Light has not improved kobo. I also know of some places here in Ikorodu that since 15 years ago till now , they hardly enjoyed 4 hours of light at interval of 2 or 3 days. How much has this government been able to generate as per electricity concern?

So, I saw this thread on X formerly Twitter where Nigerians from all over the country are expressing their happiness over the improved power supply in the country. Most people claimed they have abandoned their generators as a result of constant supply of electricity. This indeed is what sharing. We may not be there yet but we must acknowledge the improvement we are witnessing.

Kudos to the Minister of power and everyone involved in the electricity sector from generation to final distribution to our homes and businesses.

Re: Nigerians Express Happiness Over Improved Power Supply Nationwide by Reference(m): 5:41pm On Aug 10, 2025
This is the normal rainy season bump caused by three things at the generation, transmission and distribution levels.

Improved hydro electricity supply, reduced demand from air conditioners loads ( haven't needed ac for weeks now) and most of all supply interruptions due to storms, rains and flooding. Lines, poles and transformers are often affected.

This is the busiest season for distribution companies maintenance and will be one of reduced revenues.

Indeed. The best time to assess power stability is when folks retum to cities from the seasonal year end holidays up until the rains start mid April. That is peak demand season.

Hydroelectricity generates less than 20% of the total amount of power we use in Nigeria. I don’t think you’re well informed to be making comments on this issue.

Pls read up. You guys are relying on 2005 information. Give credit where credit is due.
Nobody is giving false information
That's the fact
Hydroelectric contribution to Nigeria's power is more than 20%. Most of the gas powered plants suffer from stability issues based on gas supply which is why the hydro come in handy to stabilize power during the rainy season

Has Nigeria's generating capacity increased from 2013 figures?
Has our transmission network being upgraded from 2009 levels
What about distribution? Has there been any major overhaul or upgrade?
Do what logic are you sycophants basing your improved power supply on?
