"Waited Throughout Sunday Service" — NDLEA Arrests Prophet Adefolusho For Masterminding Drug Shipments From Ghana

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Prophet Adefolusho Aanu Olasele, also known as Abbas Ajakaiye, founder and General Overseer of The Turn of Mercy Church, for masterminding multiple shipments of illicit drugs into Nigeria.

According to NDLEA’s Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, Prophet Adefolusho was apprehended on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his church in Okun Ajah, Lekki, Lagos. NDLEA officers waited throughout the day, concluding the Sunday service before arresting him as he stepped out of the premises.

The arrest follows months of evasion, during which the suspect fled abroad to Ghana after NDLEA linked him to large seizures of cannabis. Two major shipments were seized earlier in Lagos — 200kg of “Ghana Loud” cannabis at Okun Ajah beach on June 4, 2025, and 700kg recovered from his delivery van on July 6, 2025. The suspect admitted to transporting the drugs via waterways from Ghana to Nigeria.

Further operations by NDLEA between August 6 and 9 resulted in significant drug seizures in multiple states:

In Lagos, 32 pouches (15.63kg) of Canadian Loud cannabis were seized at an Ikoyi apartment, with suspect Benjamin Udo Ukoh arrested.
In Nasarawa, 3,093kg of skunk cannabis were recovered from three suspects in New Karu.

In Kano, three suspects were arrested with 359kg of skunk, 9kg of Colorado cannabis, and a large quantity of tramadol and diazepam pills.
In Gombe, over 550,000 opioid pills (mainly tramadol) were seized in two separate raids, leading to two arrests.

In Edo State, authorities intercepted a bus from Onitsha to Kogi, recovering nearly 24,000 tramadol capsules, 1,100 tablets, and 400 pentazocine ampoules, resulting in one arrest.

The NDLEA continues to intensify efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks across Nigeria, affirming its commitment to safeguarding the nation from illicit substances.

The administration of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) need to start thinking of legalizing and regulating cannabis.

It’s a multibillion dollar industry.

Your head dey there, my guy. That's the bitter truth, but it's a pity many if our people inky listen but continue to live in self-deceit. See the head of the 'Loud" fake pastor. Yeye man. Adojutini, agbaya jatijati, baba iya, iranse ekwensu, instrument of destruction. All the people's tithes and donations gone down the drain.
Meanwhile it will surprise you that his wife will continue the 'ministry' and more people will be deceived. How my people perish!!! shocked

This is how to combat crime; don’t just make a scapegoat out of accomplices or underdogs in the game but ensure the sources are dealt with to serve as deference to others.

I don’t think we have made the most of the “multibillion” opportunities we already have at hand. We’ve done nothing with oil, we’ve done nothing with agriculture, we’ve done nothing with our human population (markets), why do you think cannabis will be the saving opportunity?

I think beyond “opportunities” sustainability is key. If a stream is not sustainable, no matter the possible revenue attached, it’s a no go.

Having seen his facial expression, one would have known this one is a notorious drug baron, but trust religion addicts, no matter what you said, they would continue worship him, thinking they are worshiping God.

Anyway, in white garment church, the worshipers only interested in visions oga wants to dish out and not holiness.

If he goes to jail and comes back today, that's wen his church would start experiencing multiple booms 💥.

If they legalise it, it would become cheap commodity, since every Tom and Jerry would be cultivating it, the supply would now outnumbered the demand
