Not every country buys nigeria crude oil. Belgium seldom buys nigeria crude oil, but it but more of cocoa
Just English
No agricultural produce can outplay crude oil in revenue
Do you know how many derivatives is gotten from crude oil
Before Dangote, we exported raw crude. I am not advocating for a replacement of crude, but we can become major processors of the cash crops we cultivate. Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam do so. Vietnam exported $1.1bn of cassava products to China alone. We are the highest producers globally, but Thailand is the biggest exporter of value-added cassava. These are medium many factories can be created to provide jobs. We need factory jobs in mass numbers.

Processing is the best.

I know the European will find excuse to not accept the processed cocoa

But Belgium companies should come set up here

We have companies that export processed cocoa butter and powder to the EU. Alternatively, target non-EU countries. This is where signing trade deals comes to play. We don't sign trade deals at all. South American countries had to threaten the EU before the latter agreed to fast-track their trade agreement because it wants to protect its agricultural industry.

I don't expect Belgian firms to set up operations in Nigeria. To make that happen, Ghana and Ivory Coast would have to ban the export of raw cocoa beans. They have so much power over the volume of cocoa. Competitors from South America might want to truncate it by exporting raw beans to Europe, but we have to increase cocoa acreage to ensure such a ban works.

Godfullsam:
You that have ideas why not set up the chocolate factories so that they start selling cocoa to you instead of exporting it.

It is people like you that talk down on your country and glorify the Europeans as if they are gods.

Why can't your European countries grow cocoa in their own countries?

Nigeria will sure get there...
