If you can prosecute KWAM1 or K1 or whatever his name is , you have no moral right to prosecute or charge her to court .... The same pardon you gave to K1 also extended it to her.. but i dont understand why ppl pick a fight that wasn't their own.. by do you collect the phone from her hand... 1 phone can't cause aircrash... Me self don't turn airplane mode when flying
One phone can't cause plane crash and you self no dey use airplane mode....lol

Continue....your own day to act movie is coming

Bt it is wrong to force passenger to switch off phone.there is flight mode in phones for such.I have traveled over 7 diff international airlines n none hav forced me to switch off....they always say switch off or flight mode.
Who are you to say what is wrong?

The rule is any thing the flight attendant tell yo to do. Not what you think you know
Doesn't matter if you have a PhDin electronics. Their instructions are f8nal

You obey or are deplaned
If you like fly with 7 witches no one asked you your biography

No matter what you think you have to obey their instructions. It is not a debate
Re: Ibom Air Press Release On Unruly Passenger Incident by Rindo69: 3:11pm On Aug 11, 2025
Nigerian airlines are fond of enforcing the switching off of phones as if it csn cause the aircraft to fall out of the sky!

You are encouraged to put your mobile phones on flight mode especially during g take off and landing. During the flight, it really doesn't matter but you'll see the busy bodies still insisting that devices cannot be on!

When you travel on International flights, they do not bother you about the mobile phones but you see the local champions...

Notwithstanding, the passenger shouldn't have been violent towards the cabin crew and now she is going to earn herself a flight ban and prosecution.

Her blouse got torn in the course of the forceful evacuation, thereby exposing sensitive parts to public sights. That's a huge infringement, she could sue the airline regardless of their narrative and she's a right to claims on this.

There are other diplomatic ways this could have been handled to preserve her body privacy, not this one please.

I've been a public servant in a similar industry for years and I've apparently seen worse.

Supposing she's mentally impaired and that her actions may have been induced by reason of her condition, does that give the airline the rights to unclad her?

Blocking her from deboarding @ the point of termination is also another violation to personal rights, except there are very cogent reasons to justify their actions as suspected theft, llegal possession etc. From the airline's press release, nothing of that sort aligned with the passenger's conduct, so why block her exit when the trip has already ended without hitches and then....... Damn, can't say more sha.

It's Nigeria, you don't have it like that in Western settings. I've got experience, traveled a few times too and witnessed human induced disruptive threats that can even result in worse scenarios, but then how you deal with it matters more towards fair eventuality.

This isn't enough near anything that should make headlines and clog cyberspaces if not for unprofessionalism by the airline..

If a member of the cabin crew tells you to switch off your phone, just switch it off. Imagine the chaos and safety risk if everyone decided to start arguing with instructions from the crew members at 40,000 feet in the air.
You people are used to dictatorship
Why switch off the phone
Whats airplane mode for
Abi u suppose forcibly sleep or force conversation with another passenger bocos ur phone is off
People going beyond their power is what it is

I have never heard of issue of switching off phone before causing problem in an airport

That should tell you something

Many of you like to form too know
There are different types of aircraft they are not all the same
Apart from interference with Navigation systems electronic devices can interfere with pilot's headsets and other equipment

Some aircraft isolated the cockpit with heavy metal panel or other means
The fact that some airlines allow it does not mean all must
Obey simple instructions and respect yourself
Re: Ibom Air Press Release On Unruly Passenger Incident by Agugbadin: 3:20pm On Aug 11, 2025
Ms Emmanson should be charged to court without delay for assaulting the air hostel and other staff. I must commend the IBOM AIR crew for demonstrating professionalism in handling the issue,it highly laudable.

It has been happening before now. KWAM1 being a celebrity made it viral and an issue. Even the last time Oshiomole too had a drag at the airport.
That one was different. Oshiomole was never near the aircraft.

If you switch it off will you die? It’s a regulatory requirement that airlines have no choice but to follow. Anyway it’s illegal to disobey directives from airline staff while on a flight. If you object then the required process is to write formally after the flight to express your objections.

Who torn her clothes?
You no watch the video
Ladies should always wear undies.. her chest exposure isn't the fault of airport security. They needed to remove her forcibly since she was being violent
I didn’t say it was the airline’s fault. The T-shirt tore because they had to drag her out by force because she kept holding on to curtains and chairs in the aircraft. It was entirely her fault. She knew she wasn’t wearing underwear and she went to provoke a physical altercation.

Such unruly passenger or mad lady should be banned.

I don't know why some people carry their bad attitude from home to public places.

It's statutory to adhere to all the instructions given by airplane crew.

What's there to switch off your phone or put it in flight modehuh

Something that's for your own safety, the safety of other passengers & crews, and that of the Aircraft.

She should be dealt with according to the law.

The same way they disrespect their husbands at home, dey don carry am reach public spaces.

Hmmm

Clap for yourself!

Which airlines allow use of phone while airborne?

I travel regularly with flight and no aircraft has allowed such privileges. Just hearing from you.

Normally, announcement is made before the plane takes off.

I don't know why I had to laugh at this. I don't think you've seen videos online worse than this, have you? Ever since 9/11, airlines have now changed. Be unruly at your own risk.
Well I haven't seen such video anywhere in the world. Laws have definitely not changed. Many practitioners are still compliant.

The second woman, despite the mental issue was charged with Indecent Exposure

Aren't people funny? They pay tickets to travel with an airline and then say they don't need to switch off their phones. Get your own plane then. If you enter a car and the driver tells you to use seat belt and you don't feel like, leave the car and drive yours. Why do adults behave like babies? What point are you trying to prove?

See this one. You admit that she acted unruly and you still end up blowing all the useless grammar there? Something must be wrong with the brain of the children of this generation.

Victorodehankel:
That the passenger acted unruly is not an excuse for Ibom Air to act unprofessionally by temporarily arresting the passenger in the cabin and preventing her to disembark so she could be dealt with by the airline on ground security operatives are there no police men in the airport? the excuse is lame, and the airline must be held accountable for dehumanizing this Nigerian citizen, those supporting Ibom Air obviously know nothing about right violation, when similar incidences happen against blacks in America, we all cry racism what a double standard. This was a simple act of civil disobedience that should have been handled more maturely.
is just one version of the story. This the version of organisation.......as recounted by their staff. Whoever scripted the press release is only acting based on instruction.

It would be nice to hear the version of the Lady. Perhaps weay then be able to piece up the truth.

The story doesn't add up.

And as for the social media user who corroborated the story that's neither here not there.

Something wrong with the story.....especially the part about landing and her waiting till all passengers disembarked........huh??

But what do I know?

1. No way to verify the claim of the so called neighbor
2. Ladies should always wear undies.. her chest exposure isn't the fault of airport security. They needed to remove her forcibly since she was being violent
Let me however say that the persons who recorded the videos of her bare chest should've blurred that portion. She has a right to sue Ibom Air if it was their staff and it most likely was. all those who circulate that video online are also guilty of a crime..

The man in charge of the flight is the Pilot, you do anything he asks you to do, weather in Istanbul, Abuja or Conakry.

If you have any issues with his instructions, you can take it up with the airline after disembarking.

If he says switch of your phone, you can't say it is wrong, you would rather put yours in Flight mode
