Why Do Elite And Rich Nigerians Don't Enjoy Nigeria by okpouman(op):
Taking davidos wedding as a cue,Mr easyz wedding in Iceland.
This is just a typical example of the numerous festivities and celebrations of elites and wealthy people in Nigeria.

They make money in NIGERIA but spend it most abroad.

Them n their ilk hold all the cards in running NIGERIA,yet they can't seem to stand the country.Their best lives are lived outside Nigeria.

Not only that they only use foreign hospitals, send their children to foreign schools.

What exactly is Nigeria to them?
Just a money generating Center? Which kind of humans are these for godsakes.

Why can't they see the beauty in Nigeria or make Nigeria a beautiful peaceful fun country? Or they are waiting for the whiteman to come fix Nigeria for them?

That's why I give it up for black SAns ,they built the best African country in the world and they enjoy their country. Their people stay in their countries and build.

This is especially true for the major tribes who constitute the majority of Nigerians, yet they can't have their fun in their own God given land ,they can't enjoy their own country. Yet any simple comment about the country warning of the ills therein like from kemi badenoch, they start fuming.Yet they can't stay in their country.Reno is a big example.

He doesn't stay in Nigeria but feigns being the best lover of Nigeria.

They always love the country from faraway

You hear they say oh they visited this city, that city it's the most beautiful in the world.

But can they say same of cities in Nigeria?

Nigérian cities are generally ugly.

The ugliness is repulsive for them but they can't do anything about it.

As it is Nigeria is just for the poor to live

The wealthy just milk it

It's just about class.

Change your subject as it does not express the point you trying to buttress.

Nigerian elites and the rich LOVE Nigeria than anywhere in the world. The idea of them celebrating outside the country is just for class and privacy.

But when it comes to love, you don’t Nigeria more than Dangote, Otedola or Alakija. Those perps cannot stay outside Nigeria for 6 months. They love and adore the country.

Davido is a private individual who is just following the legacy of leadership that Nigeria's Big Men will:
* Build hospitals that they will never patronise
* Build universities their children will never attend
* Build Estates they do not leave
* They want citizens to promote Nigerian goods, they prefer goods made abroad

Absolutely. Most wealthy Nigerians could not live outside Nigeria permanently because there is no other nation where they would be treated as royalty as is done to them every single minute of every day in Nigeria.

The foreign wedding and Parties thing is just for social media effizy.

100% correct. The only thing I would add is that wealthy Nigerians should consider African location more for their parties, weddings, engagement bdays etc.

Like Mauritius, Madagascar, The Seychelles, Kenya etc. Some truly beautiful and stunning nations in Africa and we should promote ourselves as Africans.

Because we dont have locations even more stunning and beautiful in Nigeria than in those nations ??

I don’t think that’s what he meant. He just wants a more Afrocentric mindset among the so-called rich people.

Rich in money with no sense.

We do but if you want a change, in the spirit of holidaying or partying away from home, then explore another African nation.

To me, doing such presents a richer experience than going to the usual and clichéd spots like UK, USA, France, Dubai etal

God bless you baba. You got it spot on. I am a huge fan of Tayo Aina the travel blogger.

He has opened eyes to the hidden beauty of African nations to the extent many can see that a holiday to Tanzania can be much cheaper and more rewarding than a trip to London or New York.

When Davido did the traditional marriage at V I, it was a standstill on Ahmadu Bello way and people couldn't navigate the road at close of business as we had to be subjected to one lane from Silverbird to close to IMB.

Whereas celebrities like to do destination weddings. He can afford it, why not?

Im thinking that most Nigerians dont even know or appreciate what we have INSIDE our own country.
Though most of these places are not highly UNdeveloped we really need to begin practicing the mantra that " charity begins at home "

Silly question..

Because they went to hold a wedding seminar in another country this mean they don’t enjoy Nigeria? Davido came from USA to Nigeria and yet, you’re using him as example of those not enjoying Nigeria?

Owner of Amazon went to do wedding in Italy recently, does it mean he’s not enjoying USA?

I agree with your main point. Nigeria is a beautiful nation in itself but we need to do more to sell her leisure, tourism and hospitality potentials to ourselves first and then foreigners.

Travelling safely and securely, to explore the geographical beauty of Nigeria, is near impossible today.

We have a lot of work to do to improve hospitality and tourism in Nigeria.

We have the beautifully diverse landscape and culture that lovers of travel and tourism will appreciate but many problems has turned Nigeria to a nation where enjoying the beauty of the land, and her human culture, is now a low priority to most.
