The whole issue started from Uyo to origin of their journey and escalated when they landed in Lagos and the unruly passenger started assaulting those she felt were against her because they forced her to switch off her phone.

You people will not read the full story to get the background and context of the whole thing you'll just jump in, take sides and start commenting!

The million naira question we seem to have missed is why our airports do not have uniformed police.

You see this all the time with incidents in other countries but here and in both cases (Kwam 1 and Ms. Emma) the tasks of handling infringements was left to air side 'security' officials with non descript detailing.

Having properly uniformed and kitted police officers in most cases is enough to deter and de escalate these sorts of situations. FAAN should step up their game and establish a proper police service for their airports not just some dudes in reflector jackets. It is their responsibility to secure their property and services.

PS. In this case if the FAAN had a police service department all the airline needed to do was to communicate the incident in advance and the police will have been waiting to handle it on arrival, not the airline staff themselves. It is the FAAN police that are executioners of air safety laws not the airline. And in the case of KWAM 1 as well. It doesn't require ministerial intervention.

A friend of mine inside that flight told me that, they told her to put off her phone just as they airline officials said but she told them that, her phone was on flight mode. She reacted to slapping the air hostess when she was prevented and the best professional airliner could do was to stripped her naked, release it online and send her to prison? Imagine it was u or my own sister?

Exactly o, some people said se refused to come down, but the video is showing that the air hostess were the ones holding her hostage on the plane. Why were they keeping her in the plane?

Stop deluding urself to feel good cos say na woman.... she assaulted first...refused to be escorted out of the plane when the security officials arrived ..instead , she picked up fire extinguisher to attack them .... they disarmed her and dragged her out of the plane which was 100 percent very ok .. her boobs being exposed is no crime , cos it wasn't intentional...she dint wear a bra , what did she expect?? No one would have dragged her off the plane if she complied..... the hostess did a citizens arrest which isn't against the law ... I have seen a video where an unruly passenger was subdued by fellow passengers in the plane in the USA until officers arrived .... u women should stop defending nonsense cos she's a woman...would u say same if she was a man ??

The reason why they don't have a police station is because the policemen will set up a road block on the runway as start asking pilots for 50 Naira

We’ve only heard from the Ibom Air crew, and no one has spoken to the passenger herself. Airplane mode is enough; I’ve never switched off my phone in-flight, just airplane mode with Bluetooth for music. I hate heights, so music helps me stay calm before takeoff. If we had proper train connections, I’d prefer that over flying.

Back to the matter, there are ways to handle situations without force. Was there any physical assault before landing? I doubt it. Sometimes airline staff misuse their authority, and in Nigeria, people often flex power unnecessarily. Sadly, stereotypes and snap judgments are common. Instead of proper investigation, she was quickly labeled and sent to prison, which could now make her an ex-convict.

True, everything seems so rushed and hogwash
We didnt hear the girl's side of the story, we just see men molesting a girl and stripping her naked, next thing, same day, she's in court, she's in prison.
What kind of justice system is that?

I think this is the only reasoned individual or organisation I have seen responding sanely to this menace.

Other people here in NL and outside here were just too hasty to conclude and crucified the lady not minding what happened before but judged with the video the staff released on air.

Second, dragging her to the extend of exposing her body with no sane man to cover her with jacket is shameless.

Why don't we reason what could have made her not to leave?

Air hostesses are the nicest ladies I have met, but it's also important that the matter is thoroughly investigated and the findings made public so we know what actually transpired.

Without hearing from the lady, even if Ibom's publication is true, when has assault of a customer become the right reaction to unruliness? A team of personnel paid for service outnumbered/ ganged up to block a customer's free exit, then drag her down the stairs, strip a customer- all because of her unruliness?

Are they also police force? We're they helping the police to apprehend her because Police admitted they would not be able to trace her if she left the scene.

Remanded not inprisoned, so she can't be an ex convict until after conviction. Everybody likes to flex power that's why we have courts.
