Aydot99:The hotel is no longer there. Owerri is more developed now. Most of those properties were sold to people who had the mind to buy years later. All their properties were confiscated by the govt and sealed. People even dreaded going to areas for fear of seeing dead bodies or skeletons. The Groundnut boy wasn't their only victim. It was a bike man that casted the whole thing. He was the one was carrying Ekeanyanwu and saw blood dripping from the Nylon in which Anthony Ikechukwu's body parts were in. Even when citizens and the police entered the hotel with their claims, more bodies were seen being roasted at the back of the hotel. The death penalty verdict was made in 2003, six years after. Their execution was carried out in November 2016, 20 years after their arrest and 13 years after the death penalty verdict was issued Ekeanyanwu died in jail. He was poisoned cos he wanted to cooperate with the police. Leonard Unaogu died in jail under strange circumstances. Vincent Duru died in prison. Vincent Duru's son Obicheozor was arrested, charged, and sentenced to death by firing squad. Ebenezer Egwueke did not show any foul play on his part, nor did he possess knowledge of the plot was acquitted in 2013; he was 62 years old at the time of his release. They were all members of a cult called the Black Scorpion. Don't ask me how I know. These men sent chills through my childhood. It was after this whole incident broke out, we found out one of them owned a house two houses away from ours. That is he was my F**king Neighbour. Something like this should never be allowed to happen ever again. Till today, I don't pass Infront of that house even though it is owned by someone else now. Something about that place still feels odd. |

I remember that otokoto time. God save me and my paddy. I want for youth service at abia state, I remember driving through owerri enroute abia. I saw lovely hotels approaching owerri, one that caught my eyes was chibet hotel, a brand new shining structure, in my mind I said owerri must be a goodtime zone. After a week or so in the orientation camp, I and my new paddy in the camp decided to drive from the orientation camp to owerri from goodtime, I had called a chick who was staying with family in owerri. We had drinks in town when it was late we started looking for hotels to stay. Omo, we landed in this otokoto hotel. We were about to pay for room, I out of the blues asked for drinks to buy, they said the bar was closed so not alcohol. That was what saved our lives. We decided not to lodge there since we wount be able to get beers. Few weeks after orientation we decide to go home before commencing service in our places of primary assignment. I was shocked to see destruction everywhere when we drove pass owerri, even that chibet hotel had been burnt down. That was when we heard of all the crimes being commited at that otokoto hotel. That you will lodge, people will come in at night with spare keys, slaughter and the harvest organs for sale by the hotel owners son, while the remaining parts will then be used for rituals by the father. |

Thereedemer:Yeah I heard it was all some sort of conspiracy and jungle justice from a society that had been heavily oppressed by those with sudden unexplainable wealth. Men with a lots of money allegedly made from 419 were blowing money anyhow in owerri. I actually saw the display of money. Remember I said we had drinks in town before looking for a hotel to stay. Where we boozed was roadside joint, omo the kind of cars we saw and the kind of money being flaunted was something else. Slc 500 Mercedes coupe was like taxi, Sclass, lexus, Toyota 4runners, landcrusers. Another strange thing was that someone will get up from the joint to leave, he will bring out a pistol and discharge a shot in the air. I was made to understand it was to warn bad boys around that he should not be messed around with as he was armed. Anyway all that flaunting of sudden wealth was said to have led the local poor folks to pounce on their oppressors when rumors of a missing child at otokoto came up. |

An underground structure itself is a not a bad thing, it can be used for security purposes, but the way they have used it, makes it look bad. Blackman7: |
