CEO Skyewise Group, Dr. Abuyere Pays Tribute to Mother, Extols Sacrifice

The CEO Skyewise Group, Dr. Elvis Abuyere has paid glowing tribute to his late mother, Mrs. Maria Abuyere, praising her for positively impacting his life in many positive ways.

She was among the 153 persons who lost their lives on the 3rd of June 2012, during an air mishap involving Dana Air in Lagos.

But 13 years later, the son, who is also the founder of Skyewise Foundation picked the week of his 40th birthday to honour her.

He, along with family members and associates on Monday took a walk from his organisation's corporate headquarters in Maitama Abuja to Cenotaph, a memorial visit where he laid a wreath in her honour.

"She was the only woman who believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself", he said in a social media post.

"Today, I pause to honor and remember the woman who gave me life and taught me that true wealth is in giving back, no matter how little you have and that is why I gave birth to Skyewise Foundation to impacts as many lives as possible!

"Rest on, sweet mother. Your love, your lessons, and your legacy live on in me. You will forever be missed. #rememberance".

This was one of the activities lined up for his 40th birthday this week.

He is also scheduled to visit Suleja Prison as well as visit to orphanage homes in the nation's capital.

When a VIP is about to fly ,they held the air and grounded all flight including the ones about to land such that if there is shortage of fuel that's the end. I heard it o ,I am not sure

If you've never experienced Air turbulence before, you won't how's like to be faced with death.

We were on our from Abuja last week, the pilot made an announcement that we were now descending to MMIA and we should be on the ground in the next 5 minutes, 20 mins later we didn't see any sight of land/houses, that was when everyone started murmuring and asking questions.

Suddenly Pilot said the weather was bad that we can't land and we were on hold(didn't even know what he meant by this) naso people begin fire prayers o, who dey shout Allahu akbar dey shout, who dey shout Jesus dey shout am because the aircraft was seriously vibrating. Minutes later, the pilot made another announcement that the weather conditions has deteriorated that he can't continue being on hold, so he would need to return us to Abuja

That was how we returned to Abuja o, got to Abuja, they had to refuel the aircraft, waited at the airport for 30mins or so before we left for Lagos again.

The landing this time around is a story for another day.
The kind thanksgiving wey I do when I reach house, no be small one.

Pilot error.
Some minutes after takeoff they lost an engine and were supposed to return to Abuja or had an emergency landing at the closest airport but the Capt, an American refused. They continued with one engine towards Lagos. That too packed up some nautical miles to Lagos. And they had descended too low for the glide speed to take them to the Lagos tarmac.

An Aircraft especially local one has enough fuel to go and and return and hold.
There is no way an Aircraft will be running out of fuel and forced to hold even for the President.
