I totally agree. The Governor is the Chief Security Officer of the state and one of his primary duties is protecting lives. Are Yelwata and other towns where people are being slaughtered no longer part of Benue?

These governors are always using roads as yardsticks for performance. They hardly do anything about the standard of living of their citizens, always roads roads roads. Benue governors focus majority of their projects in markurdi, leaving the greater part of the state especially idoma and igede areas grossly underdeveloped.

I truly hope this is an unfinished job because where are the guardrails to stop people from falling over? Also, his main challenge is the security of his constituents, until that is tackled, he and FG remain failures for me.

He started this in underpass long before governor Sule of Nasarawa state started his in lafia. Sule completed and got president Tinubu to commission an underpass with a flyover on the same road long ago. Benue is still shuffling to complete an underpass.

That has always been the story of Benue state. A state of snail speed. Every state that was created together with Benue state has left Benue behind.

Is it true that Fulani herdsmen killed more than 200 people in Benue State in a day? Look, development of a state is not only building roads and houses everywhere, it also involve security of lives and properties and poverty alleviation.

Underpass that he started constructing long before Lafia flyover but Lafia flyover is completed together with an Underpass that the state later initiated close to the flyover...


And again, interchange is not what the state, even the capital Makurdi needs now

Indeed Zone C, especially Oju and Obi (Igede land) have witnessed systematic neglect from successive governments since 99. Alia seems to be trying to make a difference, but what he's doing (Oju Awajir road) is just a drop of water in the ocean. This is made even worse by the fact that road being constructed isn't being built to last as there was no stone base of any size underneath the asphalt layer. Also worthy of mention is the snail pace of the work. At this rate, the construction might not even get to Gbinde before 2027, and if this happens, the project runs the risk of winding up as another abandoned project.

It is for this and various other reasons we are looking to join our kins in Ogoja since it appears we are no longer considered as stakeholders in the Benue Project.

Do you realise that good roads are vital to help evacuate farm produce from remote areas to the cities?

Do you know that bad roads contribute to high food prices in Nigeria?

If you needed to ply those Benue roads as part of your business or job, you would be very grateful for the upgrades.

But it doesn’t concern or impact you directly, so it’s unnecessary, in your head.
