This mentality must stop. You're in another man's land, you want to buy Abacha, its $60 and you started doing plus and minus based on the exchange rate of dollars and Naira, why not go back to your country with that $60 and eat your Abacha.

Among the Igbo delicacies, I used to like this particular food a lot. Its called , Abacha. The last time I was in Nigeria, I was practically chasing Abacha sellers down the street in order to buy.

Now, checking the local Facebook Market, I came across this post from a seller in my neighborhood.

A plate of Abacha for $60? I think this is over the top and we like to hike the prices of our goods wherever we find ourselves.

What so you think? Is this price reasonable ?
This is interesting.

I've never eaten that but I think $60 is a bit pricy for that kind of delicacy I'm seeing right there in the screenshot. It's highly disrespectful for some people to mark up retail prices of their foods and more just to make FAST bucks off of people's sweats. We all have the prerogative to buy or NOT to buy anyway.

However folks online MUST ALSO be extra careful about buying things online though as people have LOST a lot of hard-earned money due to FAKE ads on FB and Instagram. Some gullible people for instance lost a lot of money from buying supposed raw ponmo and more from Facebook and got ghosted (by supposed legit merchants who seemed genuine after conversation on phone originally) after promising to deliver several kilos of that item.

Nope, you have to physically pick up these foods so chances of fake food actually slim here.

Did you know that $60 is like a chicken change in USA

Nigeria government have failed us woefully
This statement doesn’t make any sense

60$ is big money in the USA. I’ve seen people begging for 5 dollars in the USA without anybody obliging them.

60 dollars is not chicken change in the USA

Who the heck told you this? 60 usd is NOT chicken change. In fact, you will do more with 60 usd in America than Nigeria. So stop saying what you have no clue about.
Most Nigerians are very ignorant

When they hear 60dollars they think over there in The USA it’s similar to 60naira.

60 dollars will fill your car tank here in Nigeria, but will not fill your tank in the USA

Lies! $60 is not chicken change in the US or anywhere in the world. Lets stop with these naratives.
Won't call it that. But that like just 2 hrs pay

The minimum wage per hour in a big state like Texas is $7.25 per hour so, $60 is a big sum and not " two hours pay"

Considering the location, I'd say it's worth it.
It probably cost a lot to ship those ingredients over there.
I agree.

Plenty of corn there and guess what? They also have a cornfused president too. Cassava must be scare there, so it's a win win for the sellers.

Nope, I was careful not to eat any heavy meals, only light street foods as Ibtried to sample almost everything.

Naturally, people don't know what they have until they lose it. I was speaking with a client in Ghana and heard a cock crowing in the background, you need to see how envious I felt.

Where in Canada as minimum wages are set by provinces and not the same. Example, on Saskatchewan, the current minimum wage is $15 per hour

I think it depends. I would say it isn't reasonable due to the mode of sales. If it was an high end restaurant, I am sure you agree you might not get half of that for that amount because you would be paying for the ambience, craft, etc over the food.
