President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Ms. Rinsola Abiola as Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC).

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS NEW FCC CHAIRMAN, NAMES SECRETARY AND OTHER COMMISSIONERS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Ayo Hulayat Omidiran, a former House of Representatives member, the new Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission.

In statement by special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga indicates that the new Chairman succeeds Dr Muheeba Dankaka, whose tenure was dogged by controversy.

President Tinubu appointed Mohammed Musa as the Commission's secretary while retaining Kayode Oladele from Ogun as commissioner.

Oladele, a former House of Representatives member, was appointed by President Tinubu in 2024. He served as the Commission's acting chairman.

The President renewed the appointments of Lawal Ya'u Roni, Abubakar Atiku Bunu, and Eludayo Eluyemi, who represent Jigawa, Kebbi, and Osun States, for a second term. The President also reappointed Abdulwasiu Kayode Bawalla, the commissioner from Lagos State.

The newly appointed Commissioners are:

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has constituted the boards of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), both agencies under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

Idris Olorunnimbe was appointed Chairman of NCC, while Dr Aminu Waida remains its Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer.

President Tinubu appointed Wada to the position in October 2023, and the Senate confirmed the appointment in November 2023.

Mr. Olorunnimbe previously served on the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) Board, where he chaired the Stakeholder and Governance Committee and drove impactful youth employment and entrepreneurship programmes.

Depends on how close and influential they happen to be with the President. I know a very influential SSA that got NNPC apls for 3 people in the just concluded employment exercise

Even if the effect isn't immediate for promotion or something, it should count in a way or in some coming promotion.

Say I get a job as bsc holder, the I later go for my masters, professional certificate and all. Are they a waste within that ministry/agency? Or how does it work please

As soon as you get the certificate, you tender it and it's filed. During the next promotion examination, you should be upgraded to the level commensurate with your qualification. I'm not entirely sure though, just an opinion.

This is what I feel would be the normal thing. Anything of contrary is indeed surprising, being seeing post here say it only works in educational settings. That's why I need clarification

In the FTIs, there's a form we fill annually at the end of every year called APER (Annual Performance Evaluation Report). What you need to do is to indicate any additional qualifications or certifications you got within the year. It will count when your file is reviewed for promotion.
