dangermouse:I will rather take that as an insult laced advice. The fact that he was sure of getting a victory against us but unsure of what the winning margin would be highlight how low we have gone in recent years, our local league is not at par with other African countries league, we can't retain some of our best local players anymore and the management crew are not quality enough ( Eric Chelle is not the best we should have settled for). If this trend is not mitigated, we will experience worst defeat against other lowly rated countries. 2 Likes |

I was watching that match yesterday in a bar and I almost threw up in disgust... Like Sudan didn't just whoop Nigeria, they totally outplayed Nigeria in all areas of the field, even with 4 goals up, Sudan were still pressing Nigeria... One man in the bar was pleading for a change of channel, even if it's Cartoon network but we no allow am, we literally forced him to sit through the match.... In other words, Chelle should be sacked. While coaching may be a factor, the main factor is the low quality of our local league. All our good players don japa to foreign leagues. Any player that shows small signs of being good, next thing is to start hunting for foreign club to japa. So Na crumbs remain for the league. Reason why no Nigerian clubside has won any African competition in recent years. Let me not hear anybody advocating for home based players next time Super Eagles are playing. 6 Likes |

Just check the match lineup for Nigeria and see what ethnic jingoism can cause. Because it is awa lokan season you force a coach to use substandard material just to establish a political narrative inside sports. The own goal scorer is in that lineup because of connections. Until players are chosen on merit, we may never have a CHAN team that will do well. The coach didn't select the players based on merit, I doubt if he even watches the matches in the NFL. If you ask me how I know, I'll tell you that I have seen better home based players in our local leagues than those clowns I was watching yesterday. On a lighter note, I would like our senior team to meet the Sudanese senior team in a friendly match, I want to check out something... 4 Likes 1 Share |

The dude is right Wrong strategy, wrong formation and tactics costs Nigeria the game Imagine our so-called best legs across Nigeria domestic league lose gallantly to Sudan. Sudan coach would have gone to study our 1st game and come up with a plan. I doubt if Chelle did the same. The dude just came to catch out In fact, it was the same mistake Chelle made in our World Cup qualifier that ended up in a draw. |

colossus91:No team that works hard, trains well, and has disciplined and United players is average or ordinary. That said... Nigerian male football has been a mess for decades, especially the local league. Poor infrastructures, little investments, poor leadership, etc. If the Super Eagles players weren't trained and play in superior leagues abroad, it would be absolute shambles. Same also goes for the Female team. Look at the basketball team for females... How many of them are homegrown?!! Since Yekini and others, how many players have we raised from the grassroots?!!
