Very average movie. 5/10 is the best rating. Yet it has grossed 800m+ on BO.

There's two good reasons why they released F4 two weeks after Superman.

1. Because they often release a movie in July and they don't want to go back on that tradition.

2. They seriously want to undercut Superman.

Think of it this way. Put yourself in Kevin Feige's shoes.
Your MCU is struggling and a new rival is about to release its first big movie.
What do you do?

Delay F4 or sacrifice it to put a dent on Superman?

There lies your answer.

James Gunn needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Kevin is not your friend, he's your rival.

They asked Gunn if he's worried about F4 releasing 2 weeks away and he said both movies can do well. As in "the sky is big enough for two birds to fly". That sort of nonsense wishful thinking.

I hope he's learned his lesson.
how many times are they gonna release F4 for fork sake? The last one they released in 2015 was a flop. Its getting annoying.

This is the kind of horror people would call a classic years from now. It has the potential to be my best horror movie of all time! Period! ✨
It also has the potential to win an Oscar probably in makeup and hairstyling

It's only people that don't understand Christian sexual values that will be seeing this as a bad film. What is wrong for an Evangelical Christian woman to like sex? Liking sex isn't anti Christian values, it's pro it. The question should be what specific story is it telling. Is it telling the story of;
* Sin and redemption.
* Unrestricted marital sex.
* The promotion of LGBTQ+ rights in the secular society while acknowledging the LGBTQ+ lifestyle, and homophobia, as sinful in the Christian context.
* The glorification of promiscuity.
* Or the promotion of queer sexuality as non-sinful in the Christian context.

If it's the first three, then there's nothing wrong with the film. Yes, it would be controversial, but it won't be wrong because it upholds Christian values. Even the bible is sexually explicit (e.g Song of Solomon), but nevertheless, it never promotes what it terms sexual immorality, neither does Christ and the Apostles (the doctrinal foundations of Christianity) promote or support homophobia.

But if it's the last two, then he should get ready for the backlash due to shitting on Christian sexual values. It won't go well with the film.

So I hope he does any of the first three, and not the last two, at least, wisdom demands he does it. But either way, as far as the film is sexually explicit, it would be controversial, but as far as it does the first three, hence upholding Christian sexual values, it would do fine, the controversy will help it... high probability.

But all in all, good luck with him getting the funding.

Lady Vengeance......8.5/10

A serial killer kills a child and frames someone else to take the fall. For 13 years Ms Geum Ja stays in prison atoning for sins committed or not. What happens next when she finally gains her freedom? Shaped by the brutal experience of prison life, how will she exact retribution?

Revenge they say is best served dead cold. The way they all took turns taking their pound of flesh before finally delivering the final death blow to the serial killer was just pristine poetic justice.

I loved the way they took turns inflicting pain on the killer as much as possible while still leaving some action for the next person; this is despite using all the fabric of restraint in their bodies to resist killing the dude on the spot. Top tier directing and acting.

Park Chan Wook continues writing his name in stone.

One thing I've noticed: why do South Koreans love re-enactment of crime scenes especially for homicides? They'd bring the confirmed suspect to play out in public and in front of numerous press members how he or she killed the victim.
I saw this Memories of Murder. Still saw it in this film once more. 🤔🤔

Anyways, it's a top tier film. It wasn't as narratively smooth and dialogue rich as Oldboy, but this is equally a very good film. This revenge tale is not as wicked and equally ironic as Oldboy but it maintains its themes of morality, revenge and violence.

It plays on ones emotions and moral virtues. Will you take laws into your hands to deliver justice to an enemy who so brutally tortured you, if given the chance? ; or will you forgive past transgressions due to your belief in karma and doing what's right?

Beautiful cinematography, top tier music score which elevates each scene whilst being subtle. Sheer acting brilliance and good writing to boot.

Absolutely well made and the female lead is one of the most beautiful women I've seen on screen. I fell in love.

I just finished watching Ne Zha 2.

This movie is an absolute masterpiece.

The crowning jewel of Chinese animation and one of the best animated films of all time.

This is my personal favourite movie of the year so far.

Ne Zha 2 challenges the traditional idea of good and evil, rewriting the rules entirely. It argues that people should be judged by their choices and actions and not their outward appearance, it shows that even the "good" people can commit great evils, while the "bad" people can display genuine kindness and compassion.

Ne Zha 2 has a well written story packed with breathtaking visuals and dazzling action sequences which is perfectly balanced with moments of profound emotional depth.

The movie draws you in from the very beginning until the credits start rolling. It gave me everything I wanted and things I didn't know I needed in an animated film.

This movie surpassed my high expectations.

Ne Zha 2 is an easy 10/10

I’m starting to think the director has some kind of fetish cause why are we constantly getting dangling ju.nks in our faces?

Who else noticed that the Alpha looks like Jason Momoa?

Beautiful Beautiful Film 💚

Asghar Farhadi's Magnum Opus . That Oscar's BFLF 2012 nod was no joke.

Check out his filmography, and you'd be amazed how good Iranian cinema is.

The Past (2013).
The Salesman (2016)
A Hero (2021).

Supreme trailer I must say.....
Timothy Chalamet, A24 and Josh Safdie are truly gunning for those awards.
I'll be there!!

Let's see what Benny Safdie cooks up with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. 😎

How To Train Your Dragon (2025)......7/10

Enjoyed it better than I thought I would and seems I've forgotten most of what happened in the original animation.

Nice, funny, has some good parts and pretty good CGI. Doesn't have the feel like I felt when I watched the original years back, but it's a decent movie on its own when not thinking about the predecessor.

Warfare (2025)......6/10

This goes into the list of one of the most hyped up films of 2025. With all the rave earlier this year, I could barely see what the shouts was all about.
Well, it's Americans, so they'll probably hype up their "heroes".

I know this is an adaptation of a real life story and no disrespect to the veterans who partook in this operation.....but mahn!! This is probably the weakest and most passive Special Operations Force I've ever seen on film history.

They just sat in the house despite all the info and intelligence and knowing the positions and intentions of it's assailants — they did NOTHING!!
They just stood there watching, endlessly calling for backup and extraction without dealing with the tërr0r!sts themselves.

What was all the gear and manpower for? They had good numbers of soldiers, all very well equipped, yet barely did shït and wait for help from other fighting units that were already dealing with their own waves of tërr0r!sts and still make their way through those dangers to save their blushes.
Even more infuriating when you know they're actually Navy SEALS.
Just shitty decisions left, right, centre from their commanding officer. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

There was no steeze and chutzpah as I've come to expect of this particular genre. The fights were very dull.

Nice cautionary tale tho as to why armoured columns without infantry to support is always a recipe for disaster. You can sit in your armoured fighting vehicle or tanks and thinking you're safe from bullets, IEDs and RPGs but you never know....an ATGM could just take you out.

The props I'll give it is it's depiction of how stress, anxiety and trauma affects soldiers performances nonetheless and they're all not invincible despite costly trainings— they're humans after all.

This film no sweet me Shi Shi.

Yep. Awards bait.
I no too dey feel the sport as portrayed here but I had some interest in the sport some years back. The trailer mainly sold me on the characters and the storytelling, the sport itself seems like the background theme.
I loved the way the trailer played with everything especially the sound design.

Wetin go pain me na if e continue this recent trend of spectacular trailer but weak movie, I go too vex. But it's too promising not to at least half deliver. grin

Ne Zha 2 : 9/10 – The Pride of Chinese Cinema

Move over, Disney there’s a new kid on the playground and he's here for your throne. I totally agree with the poster above, Ne Zha 2 is hands down one of the best things to come out of Chinese cinema.

It’s not just about the record-breaking box office, the film delivers world-class animation quality, blending martial-arts magic with breathtaking wuxia-style visuals. The story is fresh, deeply rooted in Chinese mythology, and packed with emotional depth, all while appealing to audiences around the world without leaning on Hollywood formulas. If China’s animation industry can keep producing hits of this calibre, Disney will no longer dominate by default, they’ll have to compete.
