The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has announced it is lifting the lifetime ban previously placed on a passenger, Ms Comfort Emmanson.

The ban was enacted after an unruly incident on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos on August 10.

The decision follows an intervention from the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

AON spokesperson Prof. Obiora Okonkwo said the decision considered Ms. Emmanson’s remorse, the airline’s complaint withdrawal, and charge dismissal.

“Lifted the life ban placed on Ms. Comfort Emmanson from flying with any AON-member airline for life”.

In its resolution, the AON emphasized its zero-tolerance policy for unruly passenger behavior and is now urging aviation agencies to launch a public awareness campaign.

The campaign would focus on educating the public about the dangers of such conduct, which includes assaulting crew members, smoking, and disobeying lawful instructions.

The AON noted that these actions are considered offenses under the Civil Aviation Act and are punishable by law.

“Calls on the relevant aviation agencies to immediately commence the sensitization of the public on the dangers and consequences of unruly behaviour at airport terminals and onboard aircraft, as spelt out in section 85 of the Civil Aviation Act, 2022 and Part 17 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023″.

The operators confirmed its members will cooperate with the Ministry of Aviation’s proposal to retrain airline and security personnel on how to handle disruptive passengers.

The group reiterated its commitment to safety and good order on all flights.

She assaulted ibom hostess that led to ibom line carrying her out which led to her half top going off during the process. Were you not taught in school that actions comes with consequences? Or you don't know what an assault is?

Influential randy Nigerian men are on her case. Majority of them want to taste those fresh oranges they saw when her top was ripped off. That's why every single ban has been lifted and the court discharged and acquitted her.

Not too long ago someone promised her 500k. I see more donations coming, very soon she'll open a large boutique, buy a duplex in banana Island and drive a 100m SUV.

Yes, the way the handled her was rough, but she was not supposed to be violent aboard the plane. There should be punishment for that.
But it is starting to look like in this election season, every agency of government is desperately trying to dance to the mood of the people. Otherwise she should held on some charges..

She is not innocent! She hit someone in the plane. She tried to destroy things in the aircraft. And when the Airport Police finally arrived after waiting for eternity, she refused orders to come down from "constituted authorities". That is wrong and there must a place in the law that can be used to punish her for that.

Letting her go off the hook just because public opinion swung dramatically to her side over the last few hours is wrong..

This Matter has been SETTLED SINCE and even Aide to Delta-govt has even awarded her 500k as Monthly Salaries and to go and enjoy anywhere in the State!
I think the humane- Nigerians -are really trying to help and restore her dignity after the brouhaha with the Security and the A/ IBOM Airline Staff( who could not handle this Customer -Relationship well( due to the exposure of the lady sensitive organ) to the World.
Nevertheless,the Lessons have been learnt by ALL SIDES- Including the Lady in question and the Staff of the Airlines.
