CAC Responds To Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo by iSense247(op): 4:23pm On Aug 14, 2025
Below is the official response of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) to the viral video of Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA, in which he claimed that Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola died poor and made mockery of his children.

It is expected that Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo will show wisdom and humility by offering a public apology to the millions of sons and daughters of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola around the world.
“Dear Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo,

Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Ordinarily, we do not respond to social media commentaries or controversies. However, we consider it necessary to address your recent statements, which have been widely circulated on your social media platforms, for the following three reasons:

1. Scriptural Justification — The Bible permits us to respond wisely to folly to prevent arrogance (Proverbs 26:5).

2. Clarification of Truth — To correct the misleading narrative you are promoting about ministry and wealth.

3. Defense of Legacy — To address the inaccurate claims you’ve made regarding the life and ministry of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the first General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church.

In one of your trending messages on YouTube, you acknowledged that Apostle Babalola was highly anointed but "had no money", and then went on to ask sarcastically, “Where are his children?” — a question that was both insensitive and ill-informed.

To equate anointing or ministerial success with material wealth is biblically flawed. The words of Jesus are clear:

"Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses." — Luke 12:15.

Yet, your teachings suggest otherwise.

In doing so, you promote what the Bible refers to as Simony — the monetization of spiritual gifts (Acts 8:18–24). The Scriptures do not teach that money is a sign of anointing. Rather, “the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil” (1 Timothy 6:10). Which Bible do you read and preach from?

On the Question of Apostle Babalola’s Children

Ethically speaking, Apostle Babalola had children. Simple arithmetic should help you understand that they would be advanced in age by now — possibly your grandparents' age. What did you hope to achieve with the mocking question, “Where are the children of Babalola?”

Your statement reflects more on the kind of company you keep, but as a preacher of the Word, shouldn’t your conduct and utterances be guided by Scripture?

Where in the Bible does your brand of prosperity theology originate — one that demeans people for not being wealthy? Isn’t such a message encouraging greed, corruption, and godlessness, especially in a nation already struggling with moral decay?

Setting the Record Straight

For the sake of truth and posterity, let me correct the public misrepresentations you’ve made regarding Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola:

1. Calling

Apostle Babalola was called by God on October 10, 1928, at the age of 24. His ministry spanned Western and Midwestern Nigeria, and extended to the Gold Coast (now Ghana), marked by undeniable signs and wonders.

2. Wealth and Lifestyle

He was blessed — but not materialistic or greedy. He gave lands to the Church, supported the education of many, fed the poor, and lived sacrificially. He housed more people than just his biological children.

When Queen Elizabeth II visited Nigeria in February 1956, Apostle Babalola was among the honored guests. Would a man in rags be granted such recognition by a colonial government? Certainly not.

He was no fundraiser, yet God supplied his needs. His diaries are filled with divine provisions like: “Ipese Olorun loni: £100.00, £50.00...”

He lived in a befitting home, drove one of the best Ford Jeeps of his time, and funded weddings, education, and apprenticeship programs — all without exploiting the pulpit.

3. Family

His children — Mama Eunice Wuraola Ogini and Apeke Adeniyi — are alive, blessed, fulfilled, and quietly serving the Lord in their respective churches. They are not loud, ostentatious, or greedy.

4. Legacy

Apostle Babalola’s anointing impacted generations. More than 66 years after his passing, his legacy continues to inspire and bless countless lives and ministries. That is true impact.

Let me pose a question to you:

When Peter said in Acts 3:6, “Silver and gold I do not have…” — was he still anointed or not?
I leave that for you to ponder.

5. Conclusion

The measure of a believer’s anointing is not in material accumulation, but in sacrificial service.

"For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." — Romans 14:17.

Jesus taught:

“Whoever desires to be great among you, let him be your servant… just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” — Matthew 20:25–28.

Once again,
“Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” — Luke 12:15.

May God give us all the grace to rightly divide the Word of Truth, and to walk in humility, reverence, and godly wisdom.

This one thinks being a nigga in the church means you are christian champion not knowing Christianity has nothing to do with your wealthy acquisition. He is a colossal failure in Christ already.

Re: CAC Responds To Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo by sreamsense:
Very good and respectable response from CAC, but however; I don't think pastor Fatoyinbo intentionally wants to mock him because he had spoken good of pastor Joseph Ayo Babalola in the past without mockery. Well, he should be able to respond with humility, clearification and apology where necessary. CAC has contributed to society in spiritual revival and awakening more than lots of churches today.

Anywhere you hear the voice of prayer close to you in the night anywhere in the south west, go close to that church or pay attention; it will be CAC in 85% accuracy. Their fire of revival is still burning while many churches are lukewarm and cold. CAC no dey tire for prayer, they hold that spiritual department tight. In the rain, in the Sun or at night, they are on the mountain with high hope praying all night.

Don't be surprised when Jesus returns suddenly, many CAC may be among those that will be caught up with him because many will likely be praying or in the night vigils on the mountains praying in total spiritual submission, humility and holiness to receiving from Jesus when he returns suddenly. Anyway, it should be a misconception, pastor Fatoyinbo will give more clearification and apology where necessary and CAC responding politely to set record straight is not bad either. May God continue to help his church

Wonderful message.

Fatoyinbo should copy this message and use it to preach to his congregation for 70 sundays.

Good riddance to rubbish..

The current pentecostal church system in Nigeria is a cult. Any new church/pastor that does not bow to the cabal pastors will not be allowed to 'eat from the cake'

Solid response.

Not all statements should be left to slide just like that.

Money money money na real wa.

As much as money is a defence , the love of money is also the root of all evils.

some Christians really can't relate with all these new generation prosperity and grace only preaching churches, most are just showbiz.

A man that demonstrated the raw power of God in dimensions a lot of Christians even some pastors are yet to experience.....

Fatoyinbo must apologize. Even if you must preach prosperity does not mean you should denigrate those who never did. What Joseph Ayo Babalola achieved is a standard that many Christian leaders are yet to meet. Fatoyinbo, be humble.

Huuuum, this arrogance on pulpit must stop, wisdom is the principal thing, therefore people should get wisdom. Men of God of old served God with sincerity and humility unlike the greed, arrogance, pride of life, lust of the flesh, we see these days. Careful!!!

Re: CAC Responds To Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo by epainos:
Chai!

Fatoyinbo has touched where he shouldn't. Chai. He said that about Joseph Ayo Babalola!

Ha! Even Benny Hinn has talked about Babalola in a good way. T.B Joshua did not even dare say a bad thing about him despite many didn't agree with T.B. Even these young pastors who are coming up (the likes of Joshua Selma) acknowledged Babalola.

Biodun said Babalola died poor? This boy called Biodun Fatoyinbo is definitely something else. A whole Babalola that Bishop Idahosa paid respect to. Biodun isn't spiritually filled. He doesn't know Babalola at all. Babalola had everything provided for, and he didn't even use much from it because he didn't need them.

You compare Babalola to Katryln Kurmahn when it comes to prayer. Yes, I am serious. The only difference was that Babalola did not even try to go into wealth accumulation. All his provisions were met. Does he think Babalola drank wine and ate the best of meat like him? Babalola who they said would enter prayer and wouldn't come out even 7 days several times in a year. I heard the story that he led a prayer meeting in a pastors' prayer meeting, and he went into the spiritual world. He opened his eyes later and apologised that he was sorry that the meeting took 1 hour or so more than he anticipated. The pastors looked at him and said "Baba, this is the third day". Babalola looked at them and realised he was the only one in the same cloth as others had changed. They told him that they had someone always with him the whole time when they understood that he had gone into his own meeting with God. That was a man who would fast for minimum of 40 days every new year to ask direction from God. His life was prayer and fasting. How can such a person concern himself with buying expensive things? Everything he used in his life was well provided for.

About his children, Biodun messed up big time. Ha ba! He could have checked. His children would be Biodun's grand parents or maybe at worst parents. Mehn! I pity those attending this boy's church. He has the gut to say that about Joseph Ayo Babalola? Mehn! This boy's end will not be so good if he doesn't repent fast and ask for the forgiveness of this sin..and quickly publish a public apology.

In his manipulative way to make his members take money making more serious (manipulative way to make them pay more tithes and offerings) that asking for spiritual gifts, he wants to damage the reputation of a friend of God. This boy sha. I pity him.

I pray he repents.
