Imagine people who said they are elected to pad a nation's sensitive national document as a budget. Band of useless fellas consuming 1/3 of the budget in conjunction with the equally corrupt executive. A rubber-stamped band of crooked fellas in a national assembly of crime, criminality and corruption. No wonder that place reeks of unimaginable corruption oozing out purifying stench |

This is how they how far they have caged the system. When a whole Akpabio has been compromised, there is nothing u can do to him. Reason is,he has been been helping the Wicked Government in power to get loans even when the country does not need it,after all,we were told that subsidy removal would take care of our problems without borrowing. National assembly of rogues. |

On point. This is exactly what lobbying means in the Nigerian parlance. I remember years back volunteers of the Nigerian peace corps were asked to pay some amount of money which will be used to lobby senators to pass a bill establishing the corps as an agency of government. I was asked to pay a huge amount of money then but refused. The bill was eventually rejected by president Buhari. People cried blood. |

The headline is misleading. There's nowhere he called the amount a 'bribe'. Even the biased headline thoughtfully put the word bribe in quote either for the sake of deniability or to make it look like the actual word used by the man. It's quite glaring that he didn't mention what the payment is really meant for nor who receives it. Is it expenses incurred in lobbying or statutory charges for sponsoring and presenting bills in the House? The 'accurate' report fails to mention that. Or the reporter forgot to ask clarifying questions on the revelation. |

Even the bills and petitions are paid for. You have to pay ₦3 million, ₦2 million, or ₦1 million for it to be read on the floor of the House. After you read the bill, you have to lobby over 360 lawmakers to support that the bill be considered.” What a joke of a Nation |

Ferebiekunake:I second your line of thought. I do believe lawmakers do not pay or give bribe to present motions or bills. Introducing legislation is a core part of their job as elected representatives. But when it comes to lobbying on the other hand, lobbyists can and do provide money to lawmakers, often in the form of campaign contributions, with the goal of influencing legislation or policy decisions in their favor. This practice, while not inherently illegal, raises concerns about potential undue influence and the fairness of the political process. |

Is that why you can't present any bill ![]() You were busy collecting others "lobbying " money...joining it with your own bogus monthly payments and you could not do anything for your constituency with it ![]() ![]() |
