UEFA have ranked the best leagues in Europe as the 2025/26 season starts this August.

In a post via UEFA’s website, the Premier League is the highest-ranked league in Europe based on their five-season club coefficient ranking.

The English top-flight league holds the first place ahead of second position Italy’s Serie A as of today.

Behind Serie A are LaLiga (Spain), Bundesliga (Germany) and French Ligue 1 (France) in the top five positions.

UEFA rankings are based by the performance of the clubs from evey country in the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League for the last five seasons.

English Premier league is on another level based on its competitiveness.
A team in position 20 can humiliates a team in 1st position on a good match day.
When it comes to the cup games, a mid team in the championship can defeat a highly ranked EPL team. That phenomenon of competitiveness is lacking in other leagues.
