Multiple reports claim the convoy of the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai , was stoned during an African Democratic Congress (ADC) campaign in Zaria.


The alleged attack was also confirmed by social media users:

@HighChiefOkoro said, " Nasir El-Rufai was stoned and rejected by the Kaduna people in Zaria yesterday. This is a very huge disgrace and a warning sign to the Coalition that the people cannot be fooled. The Northerners are not gullible people, they will wait till 2031."

@zaMusbeyNe_ said, "This is what happened to Elrufa'i in Zaria yesterday. Nasiru Elrufa'i's tenure will always be remembered as a dark era in Kaduna State history. job losses, corruption, fake promises, poor governance, unnecessary demolitions, and crimes against humanity."

@BanjiComr said, "El-Rufai, Nigerians are not foolish. You can't become a saviour because you're two years out of office after eating govt money for over two decades. Northerners are not fools. Now, they have told you in plain language even in Zaria that "We No Dey Do, We No Like You".

I have repeatedly maintained that for the fact that El-Rufai couldn't win Kaduna for Tinubu when he was governor means he's overrated. Facts are facts; they don't appeal to emotions.

The only thing the APC will prove today is that if the election were free, fair, and credible, no one would vote for them not after inflicting untold hardship, strife, and starvation on Nigerians. But as usual, and reminiscent of a party lacking legitimacy and popular support, they will inevitably resort to their old tactics: snatch it, grab it, and run away with it.
