Former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, on Thursday night, August 14, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Sheriff, a two-term governor of Borno State and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), arrived at Aso Rock in the evening and was received warmly by the President. While details of their private discussions were not made public, sources at the villa said the meeting was cordial and focused on matters of national interest. 12 Likes

Let that be well remembered in history because, tomorrow some people will want to deny associating with him. I hope, in Bornu state, he is in the same camp as the Vice president, otherwise the VP will be very worried about any close rapport between this man and the President. If this man is propped up as an alternative power base in Bornu, and he and his camp can deliver at least 25% of the state's vote, hmm. |

I remember being told by an older friend a few years ago that Mr Tinubu is the most connected person in Nigeria. He said there was no state where he could not call 10 powerful people at the press of a phone button. That was long before he became President. We see the signs all the time. Every one that matters in Nigeria claim to have been his friend at one time or the other. A couple of days ago, Prof Soludo said they have been friends for over 22 years. Enugu state Governor said the same a few months ago. No one else in Nigeria has Mr Tinubu's type of connect. As a result there is always someone somewhere in the innermost recess of Nigeria, from the most remote senatorial district in Sokoto to Osun, to Plateau, to Cross Ri ers, Niger, Gombe, Ondo etc who will stand up for him when the chips are down. That will count in 2027. That is one of the differences between Mr Tinubu and Mr Jonathan. All the PDP northern chieftain that ganged up to canvass votes for Mr Buhari were not people Mr Jonathan had long standing relationships with. They only met in pdp. They found it easy to betray him. |

This man was my school mate in university of Maiduguri that year when he was the governor of borno state, he can't speak English at that time so he enrolled and he was matriculated with me same year.
