WB has been on an insane run at the box office this year..... From flops to flops to back to back hits. Chaotic!!! Can The Conjuring: Last Rites keep this up??

Katcall:Korean Movies are so close to home now to me because they have becoming blindly good in the last couple of years. I basically just see everything at this point. I go wherever there is good cinema 🫣. The last couple of years, i have seen a mecedonian film, a Jordanian film, numerous Iranian films, a Moroccan film, heck even a Pakistani film! 😩, i didn't even know they made films at the time let alone a really top shelf one!. Blue Velvet 1986...... 7/10 David Lynch remains true to character. This is a more linear straight forward storytelling unlike David Lynch is known for but it doesn't take away the fingerprints of the filmmaker off this film. Decent flick with the some nudity to boot.

Alexander (2004)......8/10 One of my favourite Sword and Sandals films. Powerful historical movie about Alexander The Great who conquered the world thousands of years ago even before the Romans. His vast empire stretched from Macedonia to Greece, all the way to Egypt, further down into Persia (present day Iran) western Asia (Turkey) and as farther east as India. Top performances from Angelina Jolie, Collin Farrell, Rosario Dawson and Val Kilmer. Great cast overall, I was even impressed by Jared Leto. The film followed the life of Alexander, son of Philip, from his young age down to adulthood and his last days. I remember how I read his history with wide eyes and awe while I was still a teenager. The dude was a monumental being and a major figure shaping Greece, the ancient times and early civilization, whom will lay the groundwork for its successor the Roman Empire centuries later. He was a top general and King who led his men to battle from the frontline. He longed for Glory, and glory he got as his name is remembered through history up till this day. Great directing, great score, great battle sequence. I didn't really like the non-linear style of storytelling; shifting between the past, present, future, but it has a way of forcing you to pay more attention to details if you really dig the story. And since I got accustomed to this style a few days earlier watching Strange Darling, it wasn't much of a hassle. 1 Like 1 Share

Superman 2025 I've never really enjoyed anything from Gunn, apart from the first Guardians of the Galaxy. I was expecting Superman to change that, but unfortunately, it didn't. This is 6/10 for me 5 Likes |
