CAC Removes 247 Companies From Its Database by Great100000(op): 10:09am On Aug 17, 2025
The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, has a issued a disclaimer on the purported incorporation of some listed companies.

This was made known in a notice posted on the Commission’s official X handle on Friday. The Commission stressed that it has removed the companies from the database.

CAC said the 247 listed companies have not been duly registered as limited liability companies.

According to the commission, the Registered Certificate, AC, numbers allegedly ascribed to the companies have not been assigned to anyone.

The Commission urged the general public to disregard any claim to the companies’ existence as legal persons.

Most of these moribund companies were crippled by the terrorist party apc (Canada court). They only came to destroy Nigeria by fire by force.

Does that means army robber can register with CAC in 1996 or I’m the only one seeing Jaguda Nigeria limited unless Jaguda (No 34) means something else in other language

I hope these names will become available to those interested in using them for new business registration now.

And I hope all the banks and financial institutions have been notified accordingly such that it would not cause some errors in cheque clearance and funds posting to the new company owners accounts.

Just my own opinion but I'm sure all these things must have been factored in.

Reasons being that some people gets tired providing proposed names with the recurring NA status from the CAC.

Another avenue to steal. Their officials start going to those companies now to get report and ultimately fining them if they don't cooperate

You took it out of my mouth.
Exactly my thoughts.

I can imagine frustrations from lazy stakeholders who are not ready to do their background checks.

Ok, noted.
The affected companies should do the needful by formalizing their registration with CAC if such companies truly exist.

Good one...

They need to do more publications on the dailies at minimum of twice in a year...

When you enter some public transport buses - you will observed all this vendors selling and advertising some pharmaceutical and cosmetics products. Claiming that the products are NAFDAC approved and the companies are registered by CAC.

The CAC needs to do some barcodes for the registered companies which one can scan easily to assertion the companies claims.
Re: CAC Removes 247 Companies From Its Database by mariovito(m): 11:55am On Aug 17, 2025
Very necessary. Instead of occurring space.

File your annual returns and keep it up to date to avoid issues as this.

Annual returns is the only way to notify CAC that your business is still a going concern.

A simple public search on the CAC website will reveal that information.
