You are very correct. Based on his niche and most importantly, his fan base who are dominated by young ladies fantazing a lot about being swept off their feet by that Mr. Right someday, it is a very silly comment to make. To the average African lady, marriage is such a big deal.

He could make such comments in private. But from a business perspective, definitely not in public. I get most of these guys get carried away sometimes and forget that they are also into the music business apart from entertaining their fans.

If it was someone like an Odumodu Black, it would have fitted well with his brand and the bad boy personae he has created for himself in the industry.

But for someone like Chike, it is really an own goal and he should be more careful with his utterances going forward.

I get the whole I don't want or wish to marry talk lately by most guys cause that thing called marriage is becoming less and less interesting, our girls are becoming unbecoming with all sorts shameless behaviour and unnecessary standards set that their papa and brothers can't achieve but want someone's son to . Anyway I'm in this same ship with chike and other guys but the question is ... How do one get child(ren) ? Not my wish to birth out of wedlock and same part of me don't wish to marry also assuming I already have a child.

The present Nigeria economic situation now doesn't encourage anyone to take up the responsibility of getting married.

Unfortunately very few,and that is why divorce is now the norm..marriage determine a lot in ones life and future.Its in old age people really understand the value of marriage,love and companionship because your babe will never stand by you in old age or clean your poo if you poo on yourself when old,and your kids of course have their lives to live so they won't be there either,only a GOOD wife will be there.. companionship makes people live longer happier lives.

My married class mate from secondary school was telling me that people in our graduation set are rarely getting married. Same guy was pressuring me to get married. He didn't bother to find out reasons most of our guys we all grew up together are avoiding marriage but sha want to push me into it. For my mind I just dey say this guy no like me ooooo

Our mothers generation had shame and self respect which is sadly lacking in today's generation.

In the next decade, many of the la-Men-tators on here would have gotten married, gotten a child or children (some out of wedlock), had serious and or failed/blessed relationships.

My only prayer is that they should come on here to update us on how marriage or single life is treating them, especially those that hate it now or see no reason for it.

Hian, why will you say every normal people get married, so it people who are not normal that don't want to get married if I understand you? What if I tell you that a lot of people get married for the wrong reasons? And that is why I will always respect and treasure people who don't always follow societal narrative but will rather life their lives on their own terms.

By the way, I still maintain my point that one can father or mother a child without getting married. It may be a sin when it comes to religion, but according to law, it is excusable. T for thanks😉
