Tinubu Congratulates Bye-election Winners, Praises INEC For Credible Polls by TimeManager(op): 7:05pm On Aug 17, 2025

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated all the winners of the by-elections conducted on Saturday in 16 constituencies across 12 states, describing the exercise as another milestone in Nigeria’s democratic consolidation.

The President commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting what he called “largely hitch-free polls,” devoid of violence and irregularities, while noting that the outcome reflected the will of the people.

According to the results declared by INEC, the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in 12 constituencies, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won two, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won one, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) won one.

Tinubu specifically congratulated the new APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on what he described as an emphatic first electoral triumph under his leadership.

“Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda has shown leadership capacity and demonstrated what is achievable when popular candidates are fielded and when unity of purpose guides party leaders,” the President remarked.

He also commended APC governors, party stakeholders, and faithful across the country for rallying behind the candidates and ensuring the party’s resounding performance.

“To all APC faithful and the electorate, thank you for the confidence reposed in our party. Be assured that our Renewed Hope slogan is not just a catchphrase. Our destination is a better, more secure, and more prosperous Nigeria, and by the Grace of God, we shall take you there,” President Tinubu said.

The President equally lauded other political parties and candidates who participated in the elections, urging them to continue embracing the spirit of sportsmanship, fair contest, and magnanimity, which he described as the bedrock of enduring democracy.

Somebody say Jagaban! Nentawe passed the litmus test, a good indication that Ganduje handed the baton over to a very competent successor. And that's a big credit to Mr President.
I was particularly impressed when Mr Nentawe paid 15million medical bill for the patients of Jos medical hospital without no media noise or camera stunts, he is already walking the talk and making APC policies a people-centered agenda.

Have some sympathy towards him. He told his partners in collision wait let me show you my strength in the forthcoming elections before I Join! Instead the senatorial. Candidate he physically campaigned for for less than (two) 2%. His assembly candidate did not get 25%……total humiliation in his own backyard!

His biggest worry right now is how to negotiate with the coalition after his hand has been weakened by his disastrous outing in Anambra and southern Kaduna.

We u derstand APGA but how does APC alienate a man you campaigned for in your home state? Not even home state but your home city where you live?

Right now his coalition members are going to tell him he doesn’t have the 6m votes he had in 2023 and should take what they give him.

All over the internet it is dawning on Obidients that they have been led astray!

The Problems with some of the ADC - LP or is it LP - PDP Sympathersers is that Confusing has set in,as Obedient is seriously down now.
You don't try to change a winning team by surrendering your self or lowering your self to El-Rufai and co,just because you want to be friends to the Divide and Rule' people Or
Is HE Obi-doee not read People mood ni!
These A D C Convolution is DEAD on Arrival and the earlier Obi distance himself from both Atiku and El-Rufai,,the better!

Right now his coalition members are going to tell him he doesn’t have the 6m votes he had in 2023 and should take what they give him.

Humbling himself to accept being VP to Atiku is his best option.

If he goes to PDP, Wike will finish him in two seconds.

If he stays with Labour the ghosts of Lamidi Apapa, Abure and co will emerge to ensure he doesnt get the ticket.

At the end, there is a very strong likelihood he may get no presidential ticket from any party.

He had better advise himself very well.
