Hi, greetings.

I've always been interested in tech. Once started a free course online but medschool + other activities made it tough.

This past Saturday, I decided to revisit my tech journey, and I've started a free HTML + CSS tutorial online.

As a medical doctor, my schedules are quite unpredictable - mostly busy, in fact. I don't know how I'll cope, but this weekend, I made significant progress. I'm excited about the outcome and will continue to push forward.

This will be my online diary where I'd be documenting my experiences through this tech journey.

Would also be a great honour to have mentors help guide me through.

My immediate plan is to do HTML + CSS + JavaScript.

Uhhhhh... I started a HTML-CSS course on YouTube, 6 hours+31 minutes in length.

Was able to do over 2 hours over the weekend, had one or two challenges but I was able to sort them all out. The only pending issue is the use of Google fonts in CSS. Seems Google has updated its site as the UI used by the tutorial lecturer is quite different on what's presently there on the site. Still not able to beat this challenge, but I've decided to skip it and continue with the course. Shall revisit it.

I rang one of my colleagues who has gone far in tech, he promised to do a vidcall with me later today where I'd share my screen and have him guide me through this Google font stuff.

The more I learn, the more I fall in love with programming. I just hope I'm able to maintain this energy and finish the course and JavaScript.

Yes fonts are not straight-forward don't beat yourself up

Yesterday, I did CSS display properties and progressed to nested layout techniques.

I'm currently trying to have a good grasp on this nested layout techniques using the <div> element.

My tutor is creating a YouTube clone and I'm following him through the steps. Appears I'll spend some more time with this <div> function. As I see it, it requires one to have an imaginative mind and the ability to identify hidden rows and columns in any given structure.

Woke up 2 hours ago to spend some time on programming. I now have to stop and prep for work. We have surgery today at the hospital, and it's going to be a long day.

Uhhhmm...as I see it, there is no limit to what one can do. No career should limit anyone from pursuing other desires/aspirations. Being a doctor/lawyer/etc should not limit one's options of pursuing other skills like tech, business, etc.

For me, I love the tech world, and I'm just curious as to how far my interest can take me to.

Importantly, learning tech gives me a sweet chance of diversifying and expanding income.

My tech ambition does not interfere with executing my responsibilities as a doctor - and vice versa.

Did you continue your tech journey and just stop updating the thread, or did work get in the way?

Work got in the way! Became too turbulent juggling everything together, decided to give it another go at a later time.
