That's the only Nigerian city cited in that report. It means it is quite significant to the international community, that should tell you something. Yes, there are areas where improvements are needed.

But ask yourself, where are the other Nigerian states and their governors , they can't be found on the international map...

If other states and governors were pushing their weights, Lagos won't have this population issue with its attendant challenges.
The population of Lagos comes with the highest IGR and impacts on its federal allocation. What is ebilokan and his successors doing with all the trillions annual budget if they are not employing civil servants to make ordinary water available to every Lagosian? Stealing and looting?

Lagos remains the commercial capital of the country, after being the political and administrative capital for several decades.

This is why Lagos is on the global cities list.

Its still new. London's is a very old system for example.
What does age have to do with cleanliness?

We are not referring to fading wall paint.

Cleanliness. Tidiness.

Its still not being used by the majority. Almost everyone in London uses theirs for example.

Where do you expect the fastest infrastructure, in the economic capital of a country or elsewhere?

What is natural is natural.

Is there a train from lagos to kaduna?
Under construction.

The Lagos-Abuja-Kaduna line.

About a third of it is complete and operational, eg Lagos-Ibadan and beyond.

That’s a ridiculous excuse. They have far more stations than Lagos, so it’s not as if they are overcrowded.

Sometimes YOU and YOURS can be better. Stop feeling inferior.

I by no means feel inferior. I am telling you that a new toy barely used cannot be compared to a toy over a hundred years old in one of the most active and dense economic centres in the world.

Oh, and London Stations are often very crowded. And full of every kind of human being from every corner of the world including drunks and drug addicts and gangters of every description.

You cant say the same of Lagos yet. The system has not been integrated or built sufficiently to cover every corner and every route. It is yet to be used by the dregs of society in truth, and you cannot deny this.

In London, on almost every road you can walk down a staircase which takes you underground to discover what is for all purposes a complete network to every corner of town. And as I said, pretty everyone uses it, from homeless people to ministers of government.

I've been inside metro trains all over the world.

But Lagos city metro trains are a different class.

Extremely clean inside.

Back when they were still building this project, many predicted that the whole thing would be ruined by dirty Lagosians packing their market wares and all this funny stuff into the train.

Some said people would even carry their goats and hens that they're selling into the trains etc.

But the network has been up for some years now, and expanding with new lines, yet, with no sign of such deterioration.

In fact the opposite is the case.

In cleanliness, Lagos trains and train stations surpass what you'll see in London, New York and all these places.

I think we underestimate ourselves too much in this country.

This your question, should we be praying for them to be dirty?

It is NOT managed by China.

It is managed by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA.
I remember when BRT Bus started they were so clean..........

It's not as bad as OP is making it out to be 1,2 what is the freaking point ,we do this all the time trying to compare what we just started with other countries , for a service or Infrastructure that should have around ten of years . North Korea has better lots of African countries have better facilities than us , do they make noise
Barzinime:
You need bucket?
So because it started over 100years ago is an excuse?
If the post was otherwise you would have been gnashing your teeth all over Nairaland.
Must you guys be bitter & negative always?
You cant go far in life with this behaviour.

Because they are still new. Compare after 4 years. That's when you'll remember Nigerian government have poor maintenance culture.
