They had an agreement before he extended and they breached it. So he has the right to force exit since they have defaulted on their part.

If it was truly a clear breach of contract on the part of Atalanta, don't you think Lookman would have taken them to court straightaway, instead of waiting for Drogba to file a petition?

I don't think the issue is a legal one, to warrant Petitions.

There is no clause that states Lookman can leave at any time, else it would have been a clear breach of contract by Atalanta, & Lookman would have wasted no time in taking them to court, instead of waiting for Drogba.
Even NFF would have intervened if there was such clause in the contract.

I humbly disagree. Part of the obnoxious reasons Atalanta has been recalcitrant is that they do not want to sell him to a fellow Italian club. Some of this rubbish clauses clubs include in players contracts are ILLEGAL. It is about time some of these silly contracts are challenged in court including the court of arbitration for sports. It is not chickens and goats they are selling, players are first of all human beings and have rights.

If a player feels he is not being treated fairly, then he has a right to disagree. No club has the right to force a player to a club or country he does not wish to go to. Atalanta MUST release him wether they like it or not. What Inter Milan has offered is fair enough, all things considered.

Even in court, you'll have to prove how the contract was unfair and how the transfer value is absurd.....There's no such thing as fundamental human rights here, you see out the contract plain and simple or you have other clubs meet the evaluation of the current club!

This is an eye opener. They should stop signing crazy contracts with Italian clubs to avoid had I know.

I agree with you on alternative dispute resolution but we have to understand that Italian clubs are notorious for treating African players with disrespect. Napoli did something similar to Victor, these clubs don't really care about the valuation that much in this situation but they just want to frustrate the player, do you think they can try that shit with Italian, French or English player? I don't think so.

Sometimes, you can't blame the Club. Most times sef. You're under contract, that's why when you're signing with your agent, you need to think well ahead. Have release clause, sign short-term contracts so you can leave easily. But the agents are always greedy trying to secure slavery contracts for you so they can chop Wella. See Lookman saga now like Osimehn's. It's a pity.

If Inter meets the price tag of €55m on Lookman, they will sell. That's their evaluation of Lookman.

There are even cases a club will simply declare that a player is not for sale. That's not a breach of FIFA rules, provided the player’s contract has not expired.

It's better to sign a short-term contract, than to do otherwise & later try forcing a transfer.

Suffix this to say that there are still a lot of African players having decent careers in Italy.
Italians can as well claim that Nigerian players are Notorious for frustrating clubs by not honoring their contracts eg Lookman & Osimhen.

In summary, Atalanta has not breached any FIFA rules, reason I said resolution should be via further Dialogue & Negotiations.

Atalanta is a big club with big Ambition and they wont be happy selling one of their best player to their rivals.
