Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, has cautioned politicians against relying on social media propaganda to win elections. Speaking on Monday at a stakeholders’ meeting after the All Progressives Congress (APC) won two state constituencies and a federal constituency in Saturday’s by-elections in Kaduna, Sani said political victories are secured through grassroots mobilisation and good governance, not online battles.https://www.thecable.ng/elections-are-not-won-on-social-media-uba-sani-mocks-opposition-after-by-election-victory/

We can remind them of this fact enough. They always appear stuck in their pseudo reality where everything begins and ends on social media. |

Was 2023 election only on social media too? That left the incumbent running helter-skelter to Rigg votes? ![]() 2ndly having Labour party, ADC and pdp at same time is a disservice to the opposition. it confuses those who want to vote against apc. |

We know how the elections were "won". They were paying as high as 25k per vote in some polling units and as low as 500 naira in others. It was a bazaar and a stark weaponization of poverty. The general election will be a different matter as general performance and momentum will determine the winner, not necessarily paid cash. How many people can you afford to buy by then?

Its funny and laughable to see the clown called Sani hypocritically assume a puritan and statesmanly role by advising the people of Kaduna on the benefits and demerits of Social Media activism because his party outrigged others. For over four (4) years Shehu Sani was reduced to an unrepentant social media content creator on Twitter now "X" . He now has the temerity, effrontery and audacity to criticise what he was the Chief Promoter because the tables are turning in his favour he now spews junk. The LG Elections in Lagos State in July and the By-Elections this August had a low-Voter turnout, but since the APC have arrogated powers and think Nigerians are dummies we would see if SM doesn't translate into votes. Once the PVC collection and a renewed sense of participation is restored, then Nigerians will rally round our choices. We cannot repeat the eight years of Buhari. |

That was how LP defeated the APC in both social media and polling units. The ringing Tinubu hope for in 2027 will fail him... 2027 not 2023. |

Bye election should not be a yard stick bcs that is directly influenced by the Governor. And judging by that PDP took it all in Oyo & Osun, and most eastern state ( meaning that APC has nothing in Oyo & Osun state come 2027). Which might be a heavy blow for Tinubu If Atiku secure the North and PO run against the both. I see Atiku and the North unseating PBAT if he fails to reconcile with Oyo state where his largest vote in SW is assured |

Whether the bye-elections of last Saturday in Jigawa, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Niger, Edo, Ogun and Oyo States was a true reflection of the majority of peoples' will or a testament to the strength or otherwise of the APC at the polls, will continue to be debated for a long time to come. However, what's undeniable and not subject to any form of reasonable debate is the fact that the bye-elections (abi, na buy-election sef) in Kaduna have shown that for the first time since 1999, Southern Kaduna people didn't vote PDP or LP in high numbers enough to secure those parties victory. Instead, they voted APC, a political party they've loathed since 2015 until Gov. Uba Sani broke the jinx with this bye-elections and that's only just the beginning. |

Poverty is a very devilish weapon Politicians know this and will never allow the nation prosper, so they can always buy the poor With 2k to 5k, an average poor man will do your bidding And with widespread voter apathy, this is not a thing to be happy about |
