Man of Steel is far better than Superman 2025. With all the hype on that movie...I was expecting much more... All I got was a weak Superman with so many political issues that I wasn't given a reason to actually care about. And a Lex Luthor driven so much by envy that I struggled to actually take him as a serious Antagonist. I feel like there is a lot they could have done with Lex...but his motivations were quite underwhelming...maybe that is what James Gunn was going for...idk But the movie was very average. And made for little kids... It's really starting to piss me off when superhero movies can barely show any blood despite the scale of the battles and no one actually dies... Somehow it doesn't matter what happens, Superman can save the day with 0 casualties. Truly a movie made for kids |

Superman (2025) I fear there might never be a truly great CBM blockbuster for a very, very long time… I’m greatly at odds with this film because, with all the weight of expectations riding on it, there were so few things I liked and so many I disliked and it all stems from James Gunn being the maker of this movie. The little things I liked: For all the talk about the unusual CC and grading in the trailers and teasers, the final cut was a visual marvel. The whites of the snow were absolutely whiting, the green Kryptonite was bangingly greening, and Supes’ iconic red trunks were brilliantly red. It reminded me of GOTG Vol II's colour palette 🎨, no surprise since the same cinematographer worked on both. David Corenswet as Superman was an all-timer casting choice. He looked born to play the role, and in the hands of a visionary filmmaker, his talents would have been put to much better use. Sadly, that’s where the positives end. Now to the bad: The plot was a clunky mess. From the opening scene, it felt half-done like we were supposed to have watched a previous film to understand what was going on. Crucial details had already happened off-screen, killing any chance of suspense or buildup that a good CBM needs. From there, it all went pear-shaped. The most important part of Superman’s lore is his identity crisis wrestling with the weight of being the most powerful alien who wants to save everyone, while still being a Kansas farm boy working at the Daily Planet. We see none of that. For what’s supposed to be an origin story and the new DCU’s kickoff, his personal struggle is completely absent. Even his relationship with Lois Lane, another key arc, had already happened off-screen..zero buildup. Worse, the story shifts focus away from Superman in a Superman movie to the “Justice Gang” (a goofy name, but hey, it’s James Gunn). Ironically, I was impressed with Mr. Terrific, he showed up and actually got things done, while Superman was constantly getting his butt kicked by every random goon Lex Luthor threw at him. It made the whole thing feel like a Justice Gang movie that happened to have Superman mumbling in the background. Superman is supposed to be larger than life, but Gunn stripped away the soul and essence that makes the character iconic. If he weren’t in the film, you’d barely notice, despite the title card saying Superman. All of these problems come down to James Gunn. His strength has always been ragtag bands of misfit characters and that’s fine. But translating that style to a Tier-A comic icon doesn’t work. This movie feels less like the launch of a meaningful universe and more like Gunn’s nerdy teenage fantasy of “finally making a Superman movie.” It isn’t the beginning of something grand it looks like another one-off, forgettable CBM since 2019 that just happens to feature Superman. And this was supposed to be the biggest cinematic event of the year. I’m close to my yearly rewatch of Infinity War (2018) and Endgame (2019), and I fear those two films have firmly closed the door on this genre. Even in Endgame, the cracks had started to show. CBMs are never reaching those heights again, not for a very long time. All we can hope for are the occasional huffs and puffs, praying one sticks and makes it worth your while which I thought this would be. Such a shame. Ultimately, this is a close to nothing movie. It achieves nothing, builds towards nothing, and is an unmemorable, jarring mess. 5/10

Superman (2025).... 5/10 Worth watching if you have nothing better to do... This is more of a rant than a review... The movie was all over the place.... It didn't feel like a Superman movie at all... The whole speech Superman made to Lex Luthor about how he was just as human as everyone else (which was supposed to be the highlight of the movie) That speech has to be one of the worst speeches I've ever heard in a comic book movie. It was cringe af.. It was probably the second worst scene in the movie for me... The whole drama about whether the restored tapes were legit or edited and the public's reaction to it felt like something written by a 9-years old kid... It was so comical and laughable that I wondered if I was supposed to take that part seriously... The fact that a major part of Superman's conflict was that poorly written shows how low the standards are for CBMs today... Yeah...in a world where superbeings exist, where you can literally open a rift and blackhole...where nanotech exists...where a single strand of hair can clone an entire being with similar powers... A random slander video was released and it's immediately believed by everyone without a second thought... Yes it turns out the video was actually legit...but the reaction to it was nothing short of comical... Don't get me started on Lex Luthor's character when the entire movie seemed written to ridicule him... The writer's idea of Lex Luthor being smart was to call out random C3, F6 etc lmao... Superman in the movie would legit lose to Spiderman...that's how weak and utterly useless he was... The movie just felt like another average superhero slop... The actors are likeable but the writing is not... I like the Justice Gang and Supergirl... I expected so much from this movie but I was left very disappointed...

DieRich5:Superman 3.5/10 This is the first movie I’m watching after leaving the hospital and I was like, let me watch it to make me feel better since the ratings were higher from people who pay to watch it not knowing everything about this movie is bad. Let me list all the wrongs about this movie 1) The director couldn't decide whether to be serious, comedic or emotional……he’s saving a little animal but can’t save govt property 2) Is Lax a human AI? How did he predict superman movement b4 even he making the move? And if Superman is 2nd to flash so how did lax and his people see Superman moves? 3) how did those lower class villains beat Superman without his weakness? 4) This is not a superhero movie, is more like political drama between 2 countries 5) is all this superhero living in the same state? How come Superman need other characters and even a dog to help him win a fight? 6) how did Superman girlfriend fly that thing without any knowledge? 7) god forbid, them really see Superman finish and green white hair guy think he can fight 1v1 against Superman this is completely the worst Superman movie, worst cast and emotional superhero gay man The only good thing I like is seeing supergirl and the dog, hopefully based on the character of the girl I think supergirl movie will likely be interesting. |

oyaskii:I downloaded the movie yesterday, full of hope waiting to feast on a proper superhero epic in the morning. Everyone said Gunn would bring Superman back strong and kick off the new DCU. But after watching, I felt empty. I kept waiting for the big moment, the epic break that would make me cheer, but it never came. This film isn’t awful, but it’s got no heart. David Corenswet makes a good Superman. He looks strong, kind, like he could carry the world. But the story? It’s like the script was scribbled with a kryptonite pen, leaving us with a weak-ass Superman who barely saves the day and is every goon’s bi.tch. The Man of Steel, who should command every frame, is bafflingly sidelined, outshone by a flashy Justice Gang entourage. At one point, Mr Terrific steals the show, leaving Superman looking like a guest star in his own movie. It’s not just awkward; it’s a cinematic sin. Where’s the heart of Superman’s story? The soul-wrenching clash between Clark’s small-town humanity and Kal-El’s alien might? Vanished. His romance with Lois Lane? Already tied up in a neat bow, with no spark or buildup to make you care. These aren’t side notes they’re the essence of Superman, and this film treats them like afterthoughts. Gunn assumes we already know Superman’s story so F..... what? Can’t you retell it with some damn heart and make it better? Visually, it’s an eye candy. The snow glints with icy menace, and Kryptonite glows like it’s plotting your downfall. That red cape? It flows with undeniable swagger. But it’s all surface level dazzle. Beneath the polish, the story is thinner than a roadside puff-puff. Suspense? Nonexistent. Emotional depth? Lost in space. Even Lex Luthor, who should be a scheming mastermind, comes off as a joke, and smooth-talking influencer with no real menace. Yet, the box office receipts piled up like a politician’s campaign funds. A hit, they say. I couldn't help but smirk and wonder: was this a superhero saga or a clever front for some creative financial moves? The hype and the reality are worlds apart, leaving you questioning what kind of business this film was really doing. This movie was supposed to reintroduce Superman in a powerful way and restore faith in comic book movies. Instead, it only confirmed what many of us already suspect: the golden age of superhero films ended with Infinity War and Endgame. Everything afterwards has been a hot pile of garbage or average at best. I wouldn't rate it because my emotions would overcloud my sense of judgement making me go below what you scored. The Son of Krypton deserved better. So did we. |

It feels like the standards for Superhero Comic Book Movies are so low right now that any movie that is not outright terrible slop is called "good" This has been the case with Thunderbolts and Superman so far... By no decent standards can these movies be called good. It seems the audience already have their expectations set at a minimum that they will gladly take anything that isn't outright terrible... |

DieRich5:I'm sorry but if you don't like Superman you're not gonna like F4. Both movies have similar vibe and tone and both of them have the same problems. F4 has a weak plot, the big bad is just there and the movie is way too short and the third act feels rushed. Some characters are not properly developed and like Thunderbolts, the movie is lacking in action. But it's not overstuffed and convoluted like Superman and the visuals and 60's aesthetics is pretty well done. |

Suicideboy:Do we really have to defend mediocrity? Iranian films are way ahead of Nollywood in every aspect. Nollywood may have improved its cinematography in recent years, but compared to other industries, it’s still weak, and when you add the lazy, uninspired storylines, the gap is clear. |

Double bill. Superman. Just there was hyped and cannonly say for the culture. It was an average movie nothing spectacular and quite underwhelming to be honest. Jurassic Park. This one no follow at all. That alien looking hybrid dinosaur was changing sizes during the movie. The boyfriend was annoying As a matter of fact everyone had their cliche role to play. Battle hardened leader Trusted side kick who we all thought would die and survived. Annoying merc whom I knew would be the first to die Couple of other casts that were simply there for Dino food. The family man usual father having a hectic time with the kids Oversaw daughter with annoying disrespectful boyfriend Young child with no send preservation Routine movie thank God it was data and at my pace. 4/10 |

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning The likely end (I hope not) of one the best action franchises. I thought Dead Reckoning was incredible and really looked forward to this one. While it mostly stuck the landing, endings are not easy to execute, it lacked a bit in antagonism. Gabriel was not as menacing here, maybe losing the Entity's backing had something to do with it. Still, impossible missions is what we're here for, the submarine sequence was just as spectacular as the trains in the last movie. There was adequate tension and intrigue through out and I would very much love to see more of this. 8/10 |
