The Federal hospitals where Nigerians battling kidney disease can have dialysis session at ₦12,000, courtesy of the policy of President Bola Tinubu:

1. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ebute-Metta, Lagos

2. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, Abuja

3. University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan

4. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri

5. University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Maiduguri

6. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta

7. Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Lagos

8. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare

9. University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin

10. University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Calabar

After this initial phase, more federal medical centres and teaching hospitals will be added before the end of the year to widen access nationwide.

FG EXPANDS HEALTHCARE ACCESS FOR KIDNEY PATIENTS WITH SUBSIDISED DIALYSIS

The Tinubu-led administration has increased access to patients of kidney ailments with the approval of a landmark subsidy to ease the cost of dialysis.

With this intervention, the price of each dialysis session has been reduced from ₦50,000 to just ₦12,000, bringing relief to thousands of citizens battling kidney-related diseases.

Patients can access this service at the underlisted federal medical institutions:

1. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ebute-Metta, Lagos

2. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, Abuja

3. University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan

4. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri

5. University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Maiduguri

6. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta

7. Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Lagos

8. Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare

9. University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin

10. University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Calabar

After this initial phase, more federal medical centres and teaching hospitals will be added before the end of the year to widen access nationwide.

It would be recalled that last year, President Tinubu also approved free cesarean sections (C-sections) for pregnant women in federal hospitals, a bold step aimed at boosting maternal healthcare and reducing preventable maternal deaths.

Together, these measures demonstrate the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda in action—ensuring that no Nigerian is denied healthcare because of cost.

It is not tinubu’s money - DNA price should be subsidized . May we never be a victim of kidney problem.

This is a good initiative. The onus is on the FG to ensure this subsidy doesn't become another siphoning hose where suddenly 100+ people will be on dialysis per day, twice that number on weekends.

Good initiative if implemented but Everytime everytime they will neglect anything concerning University of Nigeria, Nsukka. As the name implies, it should always follow in any first set of policies involving institutions. There's more to it, UNTH has a very well functioning dialysis facility, why shouldn't they start with it. A paltry one center for South aEst

Go and get kidney problems, then you can go to the hospital and see if you will get dialysis at the price. It’s good for you to verify yourself

This is a good development but it should be extended to others states too, especially in the East and the North

Another office has opened. Now they will give 10 people dialysis and tell the government they have 300 people.

The cycle continues

federal hospital and cue.....
if its urgent and you have the money just do private hospitals peacefully.
waiting time kills more than anything in federal hospital.

Only owerri for the whole SE?

I wonder how many machines that is in FMC owerri that will serve.
This is as good as nothing.
I was thinking there will be 2 hospitals in each State to serve the number of people with such issue.
Na who know MD will get early appointment or else you have to wait for 2 or 3 years before your turn.

FMC ebute metta
The former CMD, Dr Dada did great works there during his tenure.

I can testify to this. Dialysis session is also excellent

Thank you Mr President

I pray that my kidney problem does not get to dialysis stage, Amen

Exousiang01:
It doesn't work that way, each zone already has a statistics of it's kidney patients.
The SW is much more populated than most other areas, people in Lagos are more prone to kidney illnesses so of course you will have more cases in the SW.

NOW,if you have 10,000 cases in Lagos and you only have 2,000 cases in the SE will it be wise for the FG to set up equal number of centers in both regions!

These should actually be common sense but here we are
show us statistics to show that the southwest suffers more kidney problems, to avoid being the one lacking common sense as you have shown. Online sources show that the northeast suffers more, followed by the northwest, before southwest.

Why waiting for anybody.
Why not quickly carry any of your family member with kidney disease there to testify to the glory of God and the magnanimous gesture of Tinubu grin grin
